Can someone please explain how the hell the automatic weapons of the soldiers were effective against the deceptions in ROTF?? In the beginning of the movie, Optimus clearly stated that the autobots did not share their advancements in weaponry and/or weapon technology due to humans propensity for war. So unless saber rounds were being used, wouldn't it be pointless for the soldiers to be shooting at decepticons with guns?

i thought it was spelled "Sabot" rounds. anyway, i think i read somewhere on tfwiki that if the sabot rounds were downsized, then it'll be impossible to reach the required speed and heat to actually hurt decepticons. besides, having everyone run around with a bulky 6 round MGL would make the movie seem kind of dull. need diversity with the guns.

When transformers are in their alt modes, they don't use their eyes to see where they are going, so why didn't some of them transform when they got their eyes shot out?

Remember, the only one there who could transform was Barricade. Plus,he was probably too confused to think about it

No it was said he created mechtech for the bots. The weapons for human was only at the end of dotm and only for Sam, epps and lennox, but only Sam used it

Lennox explained auto-fire rattles their sensors. Plus they are targeting weak spots like eyes. Bombs were used to disable.

That soldier that landed on Shockwave placing a bomb at his neck.

NEST tactics is to overwhelm and decapitate.

They probably feel like dozens of hornet stings or airsoft rounds, which could disorient the bots, even if they don't injure them, leaving them open for more deadly applications of force.

I was suprised they didn't carry more conventional anti-armor weapons like LAW rockets or anti-tank cannons, or even higher calibre machine guns or such though. It seems strange that a group specially trained for anti-mechanized combat would come equipped for an anti-human infantry fight.

    Basically this.

There's also a strong chance they're using specialised rounds of some kind. They've been working with autobots for years now, it makes sense the Bots would help their allies to be not useless.

In some of the ROTF and DOTM concept art you can see concept for the weapons that NEST use, which I assume is supposed to be special weapons for attacking Decepticons, although they don't look that special.

They didn't used them much, but still were present: Hardcore Eddie was going to use it against the Control Pillar, when Lennox and his team attacks Shockwave and the Decepticons, you can see some Drones getting hit by something powerful and explosive, and Sentinel gets hit with one when he was fighting Optimus and the Autobots, which even sent him to the ground and caused him to "flee".

You'd figure that'd be the standard though, there was also some high-calibre rifles (like the one that takes out Barricade(?)'s eye). I really did like that they showed the forces had been trained for anti-cybertronian combat specially though, it was a nice touch.
