So, I picked up a G1 Soundwave at a flea market today, and while I was looking it over, I noticed that on its back it said "Takara Japan", with no mention of Hasbro. Since this is my first G1 toy, I figured that it was probably still released by Hasbro. However, thinking back, I remember that the same guys also had a sealed-in-bag Rook, so the possibility that this Soundwave is a Takara version doesn't seem as far fetched. So basically, my question is: Does Hasbro's version also say just "Takara Japan" on the back, or is my Soundwave a Takara release? Sorry if this seems like a silly question
My original G1 does have a Hasbro marking, along the Takara one. So I guess that make yours a Takara one
It could be the early release of Hasbro's Soundwave, which retained the Takara-only copyright from Microchange, before Hasbro was added to later releases.
i thought the rubsign was on the front? it was on my g1 soundwave i had before i have a prerub soundwave here and it only says takara as well along with the decepticon logo on the door
