my girlfriend and i were recently watching the first movie again, and my girlfriend asked me a question that i wasn't sure how to answer, i was hoping i could find answers here. why couldn't the allspark repair Bumblebees voicebox in the scene where bumblebee had the allspark transform to its smaller alt mode, even though moments earlier it had repaired Frenzy's Whole body? i couldn't figure why
I think it's a plot hole. Very much like the crazy night and day transitions. OR, it repaired his voice box, but he had gotten used to not speaking and didn't know until later that he could again.
I would say that frenzy used his spark to activate and connect to the allspark to heal himself. BB, knows better and would not abuse the power of the allspark like that. The allspark doesn't just work non stop. It only gets activated again when sam drops it and when they use it on the phone.
what makes people think bumblebee didn't use the allspark? in the end his voice restored, orci even said the reason could of been due to him handling the allspark. He probably didn't speak after touching it because he was unaware it was repaired. It's not the first thing that would go through his mind when he has the big responsibility to transport the thing
Bumblebee shrunk the AllSpark, according to Defiance he guarded it. Besides, it wasn't the AllSpark that healed him, it was the laser Ratchet fired that took effect.
yeah, orci said that Ratchet's lazer thing in the introdump scene was what fixed bumblebee's voice. He did admit that it could have been a little more clear though.
Ratchet fixed BB's voice, not the Allspark. The laser he shot at his throat when the 'Bots first showed up was what cured it over time. My guessis the Allspark doesn't release energy on it's onw when it's small, since the only time it did was when Sam dropped it on the ground and when he pushed it into Megatron. If the Allspark were to have repaired anything at that point, you'd think your first thought would be to fix his legs. But the Allspark doesn't just fix everything all the time. Transitions aren't plot holes, movies do them all the time, (I can't think of a single movie that hasn't done them) and really there was only one that was awkward was when Barricade was chasing BB and the song ran over into the night time scene.
Well I always took it and understood it with certainty, that Ratchet's laser began the healing process, and if you notice, throughout the movie, you begin to hear a bit of English coming from him (pay attention to when Mikaeyla tell him "Good shot", Bumblebee clearly says "Thank you" but in a still muffled sort of way). I understood that Ratchet began the process and the Allspark sped it up, which is why between him touching the Spark and the end of the movie, he started speaking gradually.
It's still healing too, I suppose the writers chose to let Bumblebee still use the radio in the sequel is to be a realistic, as well as it because it was charming.
