Just wondering, looking at the pics it looks like one of the helicopters is kind of gold/brown. The question is, is this toy the gold color that'll eventually suffer from GPS later on?, or not? Just wondering. Thanks guys
it's actually desert brown color...and now it does not suffer from GPS...i own 4 of the helicopters...two of the grey bluish colored ones and two of the brown desert colored ones...and all have tight joints and are awesome...
Thanks, I was just wondering if the gold/brown helicopter was succeptible to the whole GPS problem or not. I guess if it's just colored brown or painted gold it won't crumble into pieces with age. Thanks guys
Gold Plastic Syndrome. In the past (I don't know about the present), gold colored plastic has been known to become brittle and crack or break. The Japanese recolor of G1 Scorpinok, Mega Zarak, is one expensive toy notorious for this condition.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't GPS generally only apply to chromed gold plastic? Anyway, after several inspections of Bruticus in box at stores from both the Universe line and the new RoTF version, I think it's safe to say it won't suffer from GPS as it's just regular, brown-coloured plastic.
Nope. Gold-colored plastic. Something to do with the glitter they used in it or something. I've suffered greatly at the hands of GPS. I don't have Black Zarak, but I did go through three different G2 Slingshots to make an "unbroken"one.
Ah, now I understand. Thanks. It just happened to be that all the examples of GPS I'd seen were of chromed plastic. Simon, I doubt we have to start worrying about our Grimlocks. At least, for now...
My G2 Slingshot broke in several spots, to the point that I finally ended up throwing him into an eBay junker lot.
