Why are the Decepticons able to come back to life, yet autobots stay dead?
Optimus came back.
Who came back to life?? Megs is infused with all spark power, barricade only had his face messed up and everyone else is still dead!?
Good Point, thanks Music
Because plot. Because writing.
The only decepticon who truly came back was Megatron.. Others like Blackout/Grindor, Brawl/Desert Brawl (DOTM), Long Haul (DOTM), and various others were not really the original cons, but just re-used cg renders to fill up the background.
So far only 1 Decepticon has been brought back to life and its Megatron, every other Decepticon has stayed dead
Because there's less Decepticon toys to sell.
Does anyone REALLY need to be an "expert" to see that exactly ONE Decepticon and ONE Autobot have cheated death? Seems pretty fair.
(Oh, and HONORABLE MENTION for Sam, btw.)
Only Optimus and Megatron have died and come back.
And it's the never-ending battle between those two that keeps the war going.
Yeah it's pretty much just those 2 that have cheated death. Barricade may not have an explanation as to how he's back. Kinda like how he disappeared for an entire movie and came back for DOTM. Maybe his agent insisted on leaving him out of ROTF since it was such a bad movie....
Megatron comes back more times than Jason Voorhees because it's usually after the fact that Paramount realizes that Hasbro hasn't really developed a whole lot of characters as the leader of the Decepticons.
They didn't know there would be a sequel at first so oops we need Megatron back. Heavens forbid they do something cool like the Reign of Starscream for the second movie. Then they were thinking that Dark of the Moon could wrap it all up and they would reboot with a new director. Oops Paramount doesn't do reboots better bring Megatron but let's call him Galvatron just to confuse the casual fan.
But Megatron, Prime, and Sam have been it so far for back from the dead. Mostly because oops we need those characters.
Oops we need Megatron. Optimus and Sam on purpose, redemption was a clear theme in that movies. Though it can probably be argued Sam didn't really die. I'm of the firm opinion that what everyone calls "Robot Heaven" was just a vision that the Primes games to Sam.
So basically Sam died in the sense that Rodimus "died" in the G1 five-parter "Five Faces of Darkness."
Kind of EXACTLY that, yeah.
Sam was essential a Prime journeying deep into the heart of the Matrix to seek the wisdom of the Primes before him.
And he WAS dead until they brought him back to life to fulfill his destiny. I basically consider it a nanomech defibrillator jolt that saved him where human technology failed him.
