Ok, so I've had my iPod a little over a year now, but I'm still not sure about one thing. How do I condense my multi-disc albums into one without having to do it manually? And by manually I mean going into the "get info" screen (by pressing Ctrl + i). See, I've got all the Complete Recordings of the three LotR movies, as well as the 2-disc sets of the original Star Wars movies' soundtracks, and I don't like how on my iPod they show up as 2 or 3 different albums. I COULD edit the track numbers one-by-one but that would get pretty time-consuming, and I know I can't just change the name of the album because each disc has their own track 1, so the first three track 1's would be first, then the track 2's, etc. etc. So does anyone know if there's an easy way I can condense them to one album? Am I even making sense? lol. Thanks in advance!
It's been a while since I did iTunes support but you should be able to hold down shift, highlight all the songs, right clik and select "same album" or something like that and the next time you sync it should put em all in one album.
you can also ctrl-click and then right click on one of the selections and the multiple selection window will pop up like the above poster stated.
I THINK I know what you mean - I had the same problem initially with a few Metallica albums. Let's assume you're doing Metallica's Garage Inc., which has 2 discs. If you want them to appear as the same album: a) Select all the tracks from the first disc - ctrl-click or shift-click them b) Right click and select "Get Info". This will change the information for ALL the songs. c) Change the "Album Field" to "Garage, Inc." (usually it says "Garage Inc. Disc 1" or something like that) d) Change the disc number to 1 of 2 e) Click OK f) Repeat above for the second disc, obviously changing step d) to 2 of 2. This should get them all in order. If it doesn't, there's probably some inconsistencies in the track infos (eg one has a comment, one doesn't, or one says it's from 1999, one says it's from 2000 - something like that). Make sure that all the data is the same in the info, and then you should be able to get them as one album Hope that helps!
If the tracks have comments or inconsistent data it doesn't make a difference to how they're organized. And you can control click but it takes long than holding shift and clicking the first song, then the last.
Interesting. What iTunes version are you using? And PC or Mac? Gotcha. Tis early here, excuse my ignorance and inability to read.
That's really interesting. I don't have any official channels to mention that anymore but I'd recommend mentioning that on the Apple.com/feedback site.
