So Galvatron's scheme is pretty much like TF Animated, where he directed the humans in the background to build a new body. This raises some questions:

    1. Did Megatron pass his conscious into his new body? In other words, how did he pass his "soul" into Galvatron without a spark?

    2. Being spark-less, is he really sentient? Or does he really have a spark, maybe not configured the same as Cybertronians?

I also recall something Optimus said near the beginning about Sparks containing Transformers' memories. Was that literal? If so, what kind of recollection does Galvatron have of his time as Megatron and all the events of the war until now?

I've been trying every which way to come up with a valid explanation for this, but for the life of me, I can't. At first I thought Optimus's exposition about sparks to Cade was supposed to be some sort of foreshadowing, but it never gave the slightest hint as to how Megatron's "soul" came back into Galvatron. The movie just kind of presents it to you and forces you to run with it.

Yeah, just don't even try to think about that one.

I think that they were cyberformed when a lot of other dinosaurs and stuff were and they somehow turned into Transformers.

But Optimus refers to them as the "Legendary Knights" who originally owned Lockdown's ship before Lockdown took it over, and Optimus is apparently a Knight too, somehow. Unless they originated on Earth and then became the Legendary Knights later, but nothing in the movie suggested that.

I thought it was kinda of obvious. They were siphoning info and technology from his head probably using other parts of him as well. And his "soul" and memories willed the transforium *sp* to use that when he was being created. Or something like that.

Hmm... Maybe they'll eventually learn to talk and tell the autobots how they were created.

Glad I am not the only one. To me that is a glaring hole in the movie, otherwise a marked improvement overall.

My initial thoughts, Megatron never had a spark since the first movie (he's like an undead creature). But then again the shard (and the Matrix) powered sparks. So scrap that idea.

Maybe Megatron's will was enhanced from the allspark way back in TF1. He was overloaded and killed by it, but the cons were able to revive him without the matrix. He also survived despite half of his head being blown off. He would've been rotting in the abyss without being restored in ROTF, and KSI enabled his return by hacking his brain. Every time his body is destroyed, his will lives on despite being stuck in a dead shell.

Speaking of The Matrix, anyone else wonder what became of it?

Why wouldn't it still be within Prime?

I thought Megatron's spark was in his head.

I was going to say about the shard, isn't the shard that was used to revive Megatron in ROTF now his spark? Remember none of his body was harmed in Dark of the Moon so I'm guessing he's still got the same spark.

I was also thinking along these lines. And while watching the movie I was thinking maybe the residual allspark energy let him give life to his new Decepticon army. If they actually were alive. I wasn't clear on whether they were sentient or all just programmed drones under Galvatron's control.

I think they do become sentient at that point. I guess I have no real proof, just the way he tells them to rise and calls them brothers makes me think that.

Going off the movie - Its not explained.

Everyone can make theories, but the movie did not bother to explain it.

Yeah your right it's not explained but I thought It was obvious Megatron's spark was the one that was used to revive him in Revenge of the Fallen? After all it was revealed Megatron survived DOTM anyway.
