Lol, I said "Quess". I was too excited.

I would ask a mod to fix it, but I know they won't just to humiliate me, :D

Good luck with it. Friend got the red light of death (since there re no more rings) within hours of opening his. Took it back to Target for another one. Second one has been good for the past week+ so far.

I keep my fingers crossed for yours. :)

Hahah, yeah, I'll play my WFC and Mass Effect over and over again. This is just great opportunity to replace it with the new one, and I'm so sick of 20 gigs.

Thanks. I'm happy to say that unless it happens tonight, my Halo 360 has been flawless. I hope I get that kinda luck with the new one. So then the Red Ring still exists? I thought for sure a new model would eliminate a "rush job" flaw.

I've had it for like 2 years... well the day it was released.

Oh, you mean what am I doing with it now. Part of the trade in deal. 100 bucks towards a slim at Gamestop.

I've had mine since before WFC released and love it. It's a damn fine system.

Congrats, just got mine today. They didn't call me about it, I stopped in to get Crackdown 2 and casually asked.

Paid $60 total after trading in an out of warranty non-hdmi system, extra controller, wireless network thingy, 512mb Memory Unit, 60 gig HDD (of my friends, he's getting my 120 after the 988 objects are done transferring), and Blur.

No, the pro that I've had for quite awhile. I'm considering getting the new Slim, but I don't know...it sounds like the Red Ring is still a lingering threat.

Unfortunately it is. But instead of a ring, you get a light. Less interesting to say, just as annoying as before.

I will say this though, I have a launch 360 that still has yet to ring. And if it does, I doubt they'll fix it free. Though the video card went a couple of years ago.

Just got a Slim today. You won't regret your purchase, looks a lot better than the old 360s IMO.

Lame, I had to go rebuy some AV cables. I guess I lost my Halo Ed AV cables when I got an HDMI for it and they won't take the 100 bucks trade in with no AV cables. Fortunately, I got some used ones for 10 bucks.

Oh, just to verify... I saved all of my saved data (Mass effect saved games, profiles, etc etc) onto a USB drive. This will transfer to the new system, right? I don't want to spend 20 bucks on a transfer cable that I will only use once.

should, as long as you set up your profile and import your gamertag and all that stuff first. use the license recovery tool too, that couldnt hurt.

Valk, you mean when I set up the new system, make sure my profile is imported to the new system? I can do this without the transfer cable?

Yes. I used nothing but a USB drive and I got everything on to my Slim without one ounce of trouble.

If this is such a major issue, you'd think that Microsoft would do something to correct the problem on newer models, before releasing new ones. :rolleyes2

Well, either way I plan on getting the extended warranty just to be on the safe side.
