As you may know, I am from Quebec Canada. The Quebec Transport Minister, enforced a new law and made some changes to the Highway Safety code. As of June 30th, if you're caught texting while driving, whether you're stopped at a traffic light (it is considered driving) or not, you will receive a fine between 600$ and 800$ plus 5 demerit points. If you are caught the second time, your licence will be suspended for 30 days. It's about time, they get serious about it, there's a lot of drivers who text and drive. There's tons of accidents that occur everyday cause of these drivers. I was involved in a little incident a few weeks ago, I was stuck in traffic and I changed lanes, the car behind hits me not only once but two times, I turn off my car, I get out and I go to him "What's your f***ing problem???" He goes to me " I am sorry bro, I forgot to put my foot on the break", he was on his phone. I told him keep your eyes on the road and get off the phone!!! Why do we have to pay for the consequences for these reckless drivers? I mean you can't wait till you get home? if it's an emergency they will call...today, the majority of the cars have bluetooth.
