It might be...if it happens at all.

And if they do show up, it is an absolute waste to look right now until someone else spots one.

    Months. If at all.

it's always "oh but the retailers..."

frankly the retailers shouldn't have a choice on that level. if they're to carry a given sizeclass within the franchise, that should be IT. they get whatever's in that sizeclass, no arguements. it's not like they bother stocking properly anyway, what with the tendancy to spam the first wave or two and never order the rest, when they have a say.

and if hasbro has to pitch their merchandise to THEIR online outlet, they're doing things wrong and should be revoking the license from that group and doing the job right. sadly they seem averse to doing most things right.

Given that Hasbro had to shelve RTS because of the impending DOTM line a year ago, I'm not surprised at recent events. This is actually the norm for UK collectors - while a line launches here at the same time as the US, each subsequent wave comes out later and later (by DOTM Wave 4, we were 2-3 months behind), so the last waves always get canned because the next line is imminent.

They can't get the on screen characters out before the line is finished and leave the pegs full of off screen and repaint molds for 6 months... FOC

I just thought of something: Hasbro should save all of the crap figures and Bumblebee redecoes for the very end of each TF toyline they do. Since the final wave of each toyline tends to get cancelled, that way nothing but ugly Bumblebee redecoes that nobody would want would be lost. Then Hasbro's happy (they get to make a bunch of Bumblebee redecoes) and we're happy (we don't have to put up with all the Bumblebee redecoes and we end up getting the good figures that would have otherwise been cancelled).

This is why I am not bothering with the Prime line. I don't need the aggro.

At least Generations has the benefit of having a mid year release. I noticed that lines that have initial releases during that time tend to have better chances. And I am so thankful for that small favor.

This is all on Hasbro. I can't blame the retailers because they don't choose what goes into wave. You would think Hasbro would have learned by now to get as much out in waves 1-4 as possible before you start dishing out repaints.

So, the end of the DOTM line doesn't get released and the beginning of the Prime line doesn't get released?

If Hasbro doesn't try to find a way to do some type of its own online distribution after this I would be shocked.

I say everyone participating in this thread should email and or write Hasbro even though we are going to get automated responses, maybe this amount of people complaining will put them in their place....

Also in Generations' favour is the fact that it's a "secondary" line, so it's less likely to be overshadowed by the 'next big thing'. Past example: Alternators.

The lesson to be learned here really is if you really want something, to get in on those Asian market releases or the Takara-Tomy releases. If they solicit something, you know it is happening.

What's worse - paying a little more up front for an import that might hit retail down the line, or waiting for retail and then never seeing it, and having to stump up the extra on Ebay as the Takara is long gone and prices are rising on the secondary market?

Those were confirmed in the presentation yesterday as now being Asian-market exclusive, except the Optimus Prime with trailer.
