    Im a simple customizer. Mods, slight builds, and recoloring mostly. I see all the customs that some of you guys make. Some of them are amazing and look pretty convincing. Id like to see a Puzzler from the Gobots. How come we dont see a version of him? If I could figure it out I might try my hand at it. What would you even use? Id like to see a 6 bot combiner. I imagine it would go together in the same way as Devastator. Does anyone have any idea or any desire to do one and discuss the parts use? Just so we're clear, Im not interested in a commission. I dont want to pay someone to make it and Im not paying anyone for advice. Yeah, Ive been told I can buy advice from some people in the past. I just wanted to shoot the idea out there and see if there is a reason that Puzzler has never been revisited or created with new figs.

    I, too, would love to see this. So far the torso is the most troubling to figure out.

    A clever cheat perhaps? What would one even use as base figures?

    I'd thought Generations Tracks and Prowl, cause the base car matches. But I feel it wouldn't be stable. Obviously, making a frame and plugging figures into it would be the easiest route.

    I've seen it done with Cybertronian combiners.

    I would consider car combiners from Titans Return Menasor and Optimus Maximus.

    Recommendations:

    Tic Tac= Dead End
    Jig Saw= Prowl
    Pocket= Sunstreaker
    Crossword= Jazz
    Rube= Wildrider
    Zig Zag=Smokescreen

    Prowl and Dead End would need the most mods, in order to accurately perform as the torso and accept links to the arms and legs. But I think it could be done. I recommended the closest alt modes to the originals I could think of.

    Thanks. Thats actually pretty constructive. Would it be cheating if a person used the old "Unicron" combiner method to assist with certain issues?

    I don't consider it "cheating" per se: some issues that need to be addressed would be a royal pain without additional resources to make it happen. To be fair: the original Puzzler (I had him as a kid) was not the most strongly-designed combining toy robot. The waist joint was partly chromed plastic (Jig Saw's light bar attached via two posts to Tic Tac) and a major weak spot. Add that to Tic Tac's hold on the posts for the arms (his two halves folded formed the chest, and two tiny clips held that together) depending on friction alone, and the combiner was a disaster waiting to happen.

    If you plan on using Unicron as a "body shell" (think the Raiden trainbot combiner from Japan Transformers), the Unicron component would provide the legs and torso frame for the combiner while allowing minimal mods for Tic Tac and Jig Saw.

    In my quest for the build on this, I did go and look at Puzzler. He was put together in a flim flam way but he was charming. I dont want to recreate the accuracy as much as the aesthetic and I do want the individual bots to maintain their ability to transform. I remember back in the day all the Devastators floating around were Unicron modded bodies and Im ok with that really. Im thinking....get a little creative with parts and figures, use a "Unicron" modded frame to support....and go to town. I like the selection of vehicles to use as well. Getting some wouldnt be too hard but good lord thats gonna be expensive. Im wondering if the joint on Jigsaw has been used before. Ive seen it on Hook from G1 Devvy but not since do I know of a sliding joint like that. Im keen to not make a partsformer but....I guess some exceptions must be made. Anyone else?

    I would see if those bots are available as junkers on Ebay or soemthing. I can totally relate to materials' costs and yeah, it would be a little hefty!

    And yeah: while a partsformer isn't ideal, there is some leeway on this as what Puzzler is requires some unusual mods and thinking to achieve.

    You should check some of the liokaiser threads in radicals. Several folks made him a 6 bot combiner
