I'm trying to mix up some purple for a Skywarp using red and blue but I cant get anywhere near it. What colors do i need and what ratio?? I can get revell, humbrol and tamiya paints. Thanks. Hakka.
Thanks bern, but I have an enamel base coat. I remember reading somewhere that you can put enamel over lacquer but not the other way around. I also need something that I can apply with a brush. Hakka.
Just buy stock paints, trust me. It will be much less trouble when you run out of paint. Airbrush Paint Fluorescent Purple 1 oz (szx02350) Spaz Paint Acrylic
....and that's hardly purple. Not sure if the OP needs paint for brush or air brush, regardless - of the "stock" purples out there, there isn't much choice. Tamiya's is a good "purple" but the rattle can is terrible in my experience.
Thanks FR I'll try to find the model masters paints. I'd rather use stock colors but I can't find anything close to the color I want. I'm applying it with a brush. Hakka.
A lot of automotive paint supply places will supply mixing cups for free that are marked on the sides particularly if you buy paint from them. You can keep track of your mix when making up a custom color. Mathius
Testor's Purple is very close to that used on G1 Skywarp. (they don't have any normal purple that I've seen yet.)
I cant get Testors paints here unfortunately. I couldn't find the model masters paints but I did find purple and violet in Mr Hobby acrylics, they should do the trick. Thanks everyone. hakka.
