I didn't see a thread about this so I thought I would post.

Did anyone see this movie? My wife and I went to see it on Wednesday night and it was easily one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. The plot goes nowhere, the characters are completely unrelatable, and there is no sense of urgency about anything. It was so bad, we almost left, which is something we never do.

Did anyone else see it? If so, what did you think?

Well, that's interesting to hear, I thought it would be good. Well, I was only going to rent it on DVD anyway, might still give it a shot.

Wow that is disappointing to hear. I thought the combination of Michael Mann, Depp and Bale would make for a sure thing.

I just got home.. I thought it was an Excellent movie.. No real slow down.. Loads of Micheal Mann style shoot outs.. Depp totally stole the show.. Bale was decent but was such a boring role he didn't have much to work with..

I look forward to buying this..

I really enjoyed Public Enemies- felt very kinetic to me. Granted I know almost nothing of the actual history of the events portrayed.

the 1930s is a really fascinating time period to me.. You have the real heyday of the Pulp Fiction writers like Lovecraft and Clark Ashton smith and Robert Howard.. and the depression era " Public Enemies " not to mention a whole host of other extremely memorable personalities.. I guess the 30s is probably my favorite time period on both sides of the atlantic.. just a fascinating time period..

This movie made me think about the Rocketeer.. and the mobsters in that " We may not turn an honest buck but were 100% American.. and we aren't some Nazi stooges "

Couldn't disagree more with the OP. This was an excellent movie, the kind they don't make enough of anymore.

I thought it was an EXCELLENT movie! A lot of depth and Johnny Depp pulled off Dillinger more than I thought he would. A lot of underlying themes and the acting was top-notch. I recommend it.

It was nice to see a movie that wasn't a comedy in the last month or so that wasn't complete garbage.

    I really enjoyed it.

Just so I can get an idea of people's tastes, have people who've seen it also seen Heat, and if so did you enjoy the earlier film?

Heat is one of my favorite movies of the '90s, if not ever. This is on par with it.

I liked Heat. It and Ronin are two of my favorite action movies.. cause they have loads of action but also good, engaging scripts.

Just came back from watching it. Was a good film, not great but I enjoyed it. Dragged on quite a bit in places. I recommend it though.

Heat is underrated? I would've never guessed given all the glowing statements people make about it whenever its brought up. I would've guessed that Collateral was underrated, at least when concerned with Michael Mann movies.

I just found this out .. that Channing Tatum was pretty boy floyd in this.. He didn't get to do much.. and it seems kind of odd to cast an ' up and comer ' as some one who just gets wasted in an apple orchard.. so maybe there were some more scenes cut from the movie or something..

I didn't hate collateral, but I also was wary of it due to tom Cruise being in it.. But I own it to go with my Transporter movies.. since Frank Martin is in it for a short period of time.
