Like I said the Amazon thread, Grapple and TAV Scorponok still work, out of the handful I tested.

Yeah, I simply just filter out ones sold by Amazon and then pick eligible for global shipping and only found a handful were left.

hmmm, well that's not good. I was really happy that Aamzon Japan would be selling Transformers globally. Now it's kind of looking like that may have been short lived. :(

A few sellers have put up PreOrders for MP-36 Megatron, but Amazon.jp has put up any of its own.

Yeah, they'll eventually have the same 30% discount like all the other Japanese retailers. Apparently a lot of people are counting on that too as he's already ranked 2nd in their hobby\figure category. Even though I have my misgivings on him, there's no doubt this is going to sell very well.

When I added him to my cart the price went even lower to 17,500 yen. I pre ordered him I'lol wait till later to see how he is packaged. If he is robot mode I don't think getting him will be a problem but if he is in gun mode it could be problematic

The 8% Japanese sales tax is deducted from the price because the item is being sold to someone (you) outside Japan.

I wonder if there's a specific limit to number they can sell overseas? And the more popular items has just already met that limit already? Or maybe only items allotted to a specific warehouse/distribution center can be sold overseas? Kinda like how you can have same day shipping from Amazon US if you have a warehouse nearby and that particular item is in stock there.

The Megs I preordered last night has gone down to 16,944 yen.

That's quite the drop from the 23,000 or so yen that I ordered him at last night.

I just preordered Megatron and after shipping it was right at $199. Do the packages from them still go through customs with DHL? I have got 2 packages from them so far and they arrived 3-4 days after shipping.

I decided, for better or ill, to email amazon japan and ask...

    ------
    Dear Chris

Thank you for contacting us at Amazon.co.jp.

I apologize for the inconvenience you have with our website.

I’ll look into the problem with our global shipping policy. It may take about 4-5days to complete a full investigation.

Once it’s completed, you will be notified of the result via e-mail. I appreciate your patience while I continue to work on this matter.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to write back to this e-mail directly.

    Best regards,
    小笹 / Kozasa
    ---------

I'll let you know what they say...

    Thanks.

I hope the answer doesn't turn out to be that global shipping for toys was a glitch and they weren't meant for global shipping to begin with.

Maybe so... it is very odd indeed. I'm just glad I put in that Inferno preorder with them when I did. Even though he's not my most favorite MP at the moment, he keeps going lower and lower in price due to the conversion rate. When I put in the preorder, he was about $109 shipped and now he's down to $103. It would be very cool if he went under $100 by the 26th

Inferno will be my first toy from them so it may be different, but I've ordered a ton of books and CDs and never once hit customs at all (or it goes through so fast that I don't notice it). Most of the time the packages arrive to me within 3-4 days. It's really amazing! Especially since DHL is a fair bit cheaper than EMS too. Assuming all goes well with these next few MPs, I'm honestly not sure why anyone would want to order from any of the previous usual importers. Amazon will be superior in nearly every respect.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they say.

Nah, it isn't a glitch. Amazon JP is trying to push the global sales hard. They've even marketed an Otaku Store specifically for foreign customers:

    https://www.amazon.co.jp/b/ref=agbh...&pf_rd_p=945d88fa-1098-4661-9eb3-4f7d2085d94b

It's really awesome...but the whole Inferno and Cheetor no longer being available globally thing does have me baffled.

Also, for anyone interested Megatron is down to 20,407 shipped in my order form right now which is about $187. Not too shabby. I think he'll even go lower as Amazon tends to go to 31% off.
