One of those HDDs powered solely from USB, do you mean? Because I have a 160Gb WD one and it's painfully slow doing bulk copies and backups to.

I think you can put 7200 rpm drives in the PS3, but there isn't much advantage to it as I understand it. They run hotter but there's not a massive improvement in performance.

I have a 200Gb Seagate Momentus 5400.4 in mine, it's quicker but noisier than the original HDD.

I have all the games now that I wanted for my PS3, whats the next big thing on the horizon thats exclusive to it? Is it just FF13?

 

FF13 is going to the box too.

Next one I can think of is God of War 3, but there's likely one before that i'm not thinking of.

 

There is a different version of FF13 going to the xbox, one has a silly subtitle and different gameplay

 

finally found my psp in an unpacked box (so what that we moved here over 8 months ago ) and im surprised how many games i have. using the ps3's remote play can i put a game in my psp and have it display on my tv?

Uncharted will probably be out way before God of War.

 

You got it backwards you can play PS1 games and some PSN games on your PSP through remote play. You can also play your music and videos from your PS3 hard drive.

 

No. FFXIII will be the same game on both systems. no real content or gameplay differences.

Since PS3 will have two FF13 titles, I'll end up getting them both.

 

supposedly the difference in the 360 was removal of the original (Japanese) audio which the PS3 will make use of both...or at least it was going to be that way...

And by the way I downloaded Flower last month and it indeed is as awesome as people have said it is, I've finished it just trying to find all those secret flowers on the levels.

 

Have you tried Crash Commandos? I forgot if there is a Demo, but definitely try before buy because it's a multiplayer game. If you have buddies over, Calling All Cars is pretty fun.

 

I have a 1TB external Hard Drive thats full of Movies and TV shows. Is there any way to plug in the Hard Drive USB into the PS3 and have it see my movies and be able to play them through the PS3?

Do the folders need specific names to be seen? Also what type of video files are supported?

I'm unable to search Google, gaming sites and the like at the moment hence the bump of the thread.

First your external hard drive will need to be in the Fat32 format for your PS3 to see it. Second they should be in a folder labeled VIDEO if they are not it is not a big deal. Once the drive is displayed on your PS3 go to the video drop down and select the drive with triangle "I think" and there should be an option to display all. It will show you the compatible formats that can be played, a list can be found on Playstation's website. Here is what I could find hope it helps.

I know I can create an additional user on my PS3, i.e create a new name but how do I go about signing up for PSN, is it ok to use the same details as that of the other user?
