My local EBGames is actually taking preorders for preorders. I'm not kidding. You can put yourself on a preorder list, and they'll call you when they start taking preorders, then it's first come first served based on who comes in and puts their preorder money down.
Why wouldnt sony risk launching after revolution? Sony is the one with the uber fan base in all markets.

Dumb or smart aren't really the words where Sony are concerned. If they arrive late, they'll just spend even more on advertising, and increase their dodgy sales practices. Sony know that there's a price over which it becomes unrealistic to too many people. If it breaks $500, i'll be suprised.
