Here you go, my first ever custom. I started him about a month ago, put him on my shelf and kinda forgot about him... Then after dinner tonight, I pulled him out and started again, he's still a WIP, which explains the black waist and unfinished legs. How do you guys like it? Not bad for a kid with no painting experience, couldn't have done it without seeing Cheetimus's version, so thanks bro. So, we finally get to the pics

Very nice. He's just missing a small Autobot symbol on his chest. Well done.

At this scale, I think it's impossible to get that symbol at the correct size.

    Reprolabels.

The paint work seems a little unclean upon closer examination. Take your time and don't be afraid to go back and touch things up as you find them.

But yeah this is a pretty good 1st custom. You nailed the parts that makes Ratchet, Ratchet.

Make the paint apps cleaner. They're all over the place.

Once I've got the basics finished, I'm gonna go back and clean him up, I've found that Magic Erasers work wonders for removing paint.

Thank goodness you hit the scene. Not only are you doing some fine work, but it's nice to have another Cheetimus fanboy around so I don't seem as weird.

As promised, here are a few shots post-touchups. Until I get some smaller brushes, this is probably the extent of his changes, not perfect, but it looks nice on a shelf.

the clean up pics look 100% better. the main things are patience and practice if you want to continue improving. i think you picked a hard first project to tackle but i salute your courage. i went with reprolabels to handle this one in my collection. keep on customizing my friend.
