It has always seemed to me that some third-party companies have not taken advantage of the Transformers Animated figures market and its wide variety of designs. Therefore, I am on a journey to design some of the robots that didn't get a toy or whose toy didn't do them justice. With that said, I present to you Waspinator. Also, here's the first prototype: I will continue prototyping the following parts until I achieve a product that is relatively similar in terms of quality, articulation, and likeness to the show.
That's the plan for this design and the ones to come, although I think the previous project, 'Animated Erector,' will not be uploaded online at the moment.
Oh HELL yes! Cannot wait to see this done! Also sad Erector won't be uploaded for the time being but I can also, albeit somewhat, understand. Either way, cannot wait to see this finished and future projects!
That is looking cool. The head is beautiful. I have an animated Waspie without robot head nor limbs, and your sculpt is tempting me. Not among the voting options, but Lugnut would be great too.
At first, I thought of making an upgrade kit, but since I didn't have the deluxe, I preferred to make this voyager-scale version. And if this design, along with the one that wins the vote, is well-received in sales, I was thinking of making other toys, like a Leader Class Lugnut or a Voyager Class Sentinel.
I can understand why Hasbro made Sentinel the way they did at the time, but how would it be different in modern times? I.e. yours? I'm curious because I'm scratching my head at designing a Voyager-scale Sentinel Prime since all I pretty much know is the chest, head and shoulders. No idea how to design his thin legs. Either way, like I said previously, cannot wait to see future concepts.
Okay, this picture made me realize you could retool him into the concept Arachnus Prime. I'd kill for that.
I think it's a good idea and it could definitely work as a version of Tarantula, but I think it would be easier to base its transformation on Blackarachnia, because of the similarity in their designs.
Forgive me, I don't know anything about 3D modeling, but are those last two pictures referencing Inferno and Antagony?
