I hear that same arguments for ads in videogames and I still don't understand that. I like movies and games to escape reality. I don't need Coke and Walmart following me into my movies. Yeah, I know that is a bit hypocritical considering how much product placement is already in Transformers 1, and it's a little dumb to not have real items in movies, but I'd rather not open the floodgates and let companies think it's ok.

Agreed my good sir. That would be hilarious!

Product placement just means more money to put in more bots, so to that I say more power to ya. I just hope they stick with three movies in this style then move on to a different direction with a new director like they do with the cartoons. Beast Wars would be sweet actually

On another note I hope GM isn't locked into all 3 movies as an exclusive car company. Some japanese cars would be nice, even if they were D-cons like the Mustang in TF:TM

Michael Bay also isn't the producer of the movie, despite what the article claims...

    Fort Max as a Walmart?
The Fallen as a pair of Nikes?
Soundwave as a..... Computer with youtube as it's home page?

    Michael Bay, you sly dog.

if that's the case, cool. But being the cynic that I am, I'll just assume it means a bigger pool for Bay's mansion, or somesuch.:bay

Bay can be kinda clumsy with the product placement. Remember that Panasonic SD card held up to the camera?

Of course if it bothers you, you can make a game of it, like spot the product placement. The best movie is 'Mac and Me' - they spent like half the movie in a McDonalds, then at the end, they revive the alien with Coca-Cola.

Bumblebee goes into Walmart to hide, and gets scalped due to the rarity of his mold. The rest of the movie is about the Autobots trying to buy him back on eBay.

If that happens I will cheer. Loudly.

Um, they'd have to film the rest of the movie from my house, 'cause I'd buy him and never let him go! :lol

I don't think the product placement in Pt.2 will be any better or worse than what was found in Pt.1:

    Chevy
    eBay
    Burger King
    Nokia
    Yahoo
    The Strokes :)
    Cisco Systems
    XBox
    Mountain Dew (aka Pepsi Co.)

And I'm sure there were even more than those.

Wasn't Dell the laptop the guy used to talk to his wife in the beginning of the movie?

    Nike + Transformers

There's already been Transformers shoes that actually transform - can't recall if they were Nikes though, but one transformed into Optimus and the other into Megatron. The pics were on here months ago.

There was a Burger King-TF commercial

There was a Burger King commercial where Optimus Prime drives up to the drive-thru menu, orders a Whopper w/Cheese(?) and then we hear him transform, while we see a reaction on the BK drive thru guy's face.
