Haha, just remember that toy selling and the cartoons WERE (and sometimes still are) lazy. In the 80's most of their toys weren't even made by the companies selling them. They just bought the rights to produce them. The seekers are all just repaints. Optimus and Magnus are the same character minus the trailers. We could on on and on here, but laziness is their mantra.

Yeah. Why not? We do realize that if we come up with high expectations, they will never be met.

Anyone who really wanted a set of sweeps could buy multiple scourges. And if they do something to make the sweep figure distinct from scourge, it kind of makes the sweep figure not really function as a sweep properly.

    This.

Option 1: Release Sweeps as identical to Scourge. The complaint will be, "They're just repackaging the same toy under a different name! Rip off!"
Option 2: Release Sweeps as slight remolds or redecos of Scourge. The complaint becomes, "It's not animation accurate!" (But at least you're getting something different and have options.)

Like... what is the option people would like them to embrace here? :lol  Unless you're a completionist MISB collector who just wants the same identical figure but also wants the different name on the box. Then I can see it I guess. But otherwise, they have to justify calling it a Sweep somehow when Scourge already exists. Or just do another run of Scourge I suppose.

Any chance of Cyclonus armada repaints or slight redecos coming down the pike? Hasbro loves to double dip on popular molds!!

yeah, thats my point. If the '86 line is movie accurate line, then all you need to do is buy more scourges? A sweep that wasn't an exact clone is not a sweep at that point, as you said.

Hmm not sure if repaints are ripoffs to me. I make that choice to purchase, however I don't see why release it under the '86 line if it is the movie accurate line since Scourge and Sweeps are the same. Seems dumb.

Studio series in general has had it's fair share of deviations from movie designs, the 86 subline is no different

This one seems like a slam-dunk just for releasing "Armada" in toy colors.

Of course, the question on everybody's mind is...how is Hasbro going to handle Wreck-Gar's blaster nipples on a modern toy?

Hasbro would make a killing if these new figures came with 3 different swapable heads just like they do with the Marvel Legends line.  A lot of collectors will like to army build them.  The only way Hasbro would mess this up is if they only put one figure per wave.

I'm not sure that fits the definition of "scam" though.

I'm going to guess that each Sweep figure will have unique hand gestures, at the very least, to differentiate between them.

    Are you kidding?
Hasbro is getting people to buy multiple Sweeps to function as Sweeps instead of multiple Scourges to function as...
    Er... Sweeps.
It's the very definition of Spam.
    Wait, Spam or Scam?
In either case I am a grown man who collects toys and I am OUTRAGED at whatever the situation is.
    Am I using "OUTRAGED" correctly?

That would be cool -different facial expressions or hand gestures.

Jeez alright, I was being a bit flip with my language, it's not technically a scam if you go by the dictionary. Maybe "Waste of a perfectly good Voyager slot" works better for you.
