Good catch, yes, I meant Action Master Thundercracker, but if they did make him as a Shattered Glass figure, that gives at least some possibility that he might be a Tetra-jet. I mistakenly said G2, because that is just where I would display the figure, given the jarring deco.

It is also possibly that we could see some other seekers using the Legacy Armada Starscream mold.

In a very similar manner we could see the Tetra Jet mold get a heavy remold on the shell, to represent Cybertron/Galaxy Force Starscream, and see some of the seekers done that way as well.


hmm, Universe Ramjet from the Armada mold does remind me of Nacelle in some respects, just missing the VTOL wings. Also while the dark red Starscream is actually Starscream, it is a very Thrust like deco.

 

It'll depend on how Axlegrease will look like, tbh. I'm guessing Lockdown will be primarily based off the IDW incarnation with elements from the TFA design. Kind of like Prime Universe Skyquake where he is mixed G1 and TFP elements.

I hope the final toy will have the car mode looking very similar to the poster but with a different windshield.
I mean the car mode is bloody awesome, an RS Camaro (first gen version, 60s) but that windshield feels off and I'm hoping that's just Scraphook's back section attached to Axelgrease's front sections.

Legacy Blitzwing! The jet mode's close enough and the robot mode is literally identical if you unfold the wings on his legs and remove the tank backpack. Ideally Hasbro would do that themselves (he could probably be sold as a Voyager minus the tank parts and the hulk hands) but if not, it's an easy mod to do yourself and I'm sure a third party would make an upgrade kit to fill out the lower legs when the wings are extended.

 

It would be pretty inspired to make any kind of a plane out of the Blitzwing mold this way, I agree. Would be a good way to re-use a mold that had so much wasted potential.

I would second that it's a no-brainer that MetalHawk should be repainted into Leader-1 with a new head. If they are gonna do it, this is the mold to do it with, IMHO. The animation model for the GoBot was literally almost a direct drawing of the 2POA toy, which limits his traditional look to that. So they were always going to modernize it.

 

Also tbh the leader-1 from blitzwing would probably be too close to overcharge deco wise in robot mode, I don't want that to cut into the chances for both.

 

Metalhawk could work well enough for the robot mode but the jet mode looks a lot worse than Blitzwing's does with the tank kibble removed, IMO. I feel like Blitzwing would wear the all-grey color scheme a lot better than Metalhawk too.

 

I honestly think the best case would be to mix Cyclonus' tooling with Metalhawk's, just for maximum aesthetics.

You probably bypass all those sneaky "Machine Robo vs. Gobots" rights issues by giving the Gobots fantasy alt modes.

 

If I'm not mistaken, they have the deal where they own the characters but not the likenesses of the original toys. Which is my guess why they can do a straight repaint of a character HasTak owns and do a cartoon character nameslap. Which would lead me to think they may do a Leader-1, but wouldn't expect retooling beyond the head.

 

That could be neat for Leader-1, but what I'd really love so fucking much? If they could release an altered Metalhawk with all of Metalhawk's robot mode parts but Cyclonus's nosecone and cockpit, new panels on his forearms that let his arms peg in like Cyclonus's, and the wings switched so that his jet mode looks more like this, but stable:

Cyclonus's nosecone and the further back wings would make him look enough like IDW Metalhawk that they could probably bill him as 'Comic Universe Metalhawk' with an altered paint job.

Yeah, this is honestly the main reason I doubt he'll actually happen from Blitzwing, the robot mode would be too close.

 

Good to know that Hasbro aren't favouring Ramjet too much in terms of the exclusive retool!

Now if only Dirge can get some remold love!

 

Alas, there were no Dirge repaints unless we make a new character out of the Skywarp with red Dirge wings.

Part of why I hope (but doubt) for an Earth Mode Hotlink to be this setup. Similar stretch to Nacelle being the fourth welcoming committee member and also the prototype Thrust.

 

It's the smart move.

So the rumor is that the SDCC stuff is Armada Powerlinx decos. So if I where to guess it will go one of two ways.

1.) two 2-packs with the 3rd thing being unreleated
- Hot Shot and Starscream 2-pack
- Optimus and Galvatron Mortal Combat 2-pack
2.) 1 2-pack but Galv and Optimus are individual
- Hot Shot and Starscream 2-pack
- Galvatron
- Optimus
