I’ve always assumed Red’s alt mode basis belonged to a fire chief skimming off the top of the fire house funds.

This is completely expected after the Sideswipe reveal, if a little annoying (Sideswipe and Red in Siege were so close to an Earth car as to make no practical difference).

And yet I’ll still probably get it. Hopefully they don’t try and redo Tigertrack and Deep Cover. I will take a Clamp Down though.

 

That's my main gripe having some "unwanted" BW random name used character that only existed to keep the trademark packed with an iconic character. Mirage isn't a character I need. But for those that really want him they get a voyager tossed in. Think the Sideswipe set is a bit better with 2 deluxes. And this figure will be singular. But this is a bad practice.

Only have one Walgreens close to me but have about 20 more in a 25 mile radius. Usually find their exclusives fairly easily. Will pick him up if I see him, but not going out of my way. I'm happy with the Siege Red Alert.

 

More than likely, Red Alert will get his cartoon colors but I personally would prefer the vintage toy colors. I'll still get it either way.

I think the old Universe Hound still makes a good Hound. I liked it well enough that I didn't even bother with the Siege version.

Except it doesn't really look like the Jeep that Hound typically turns into. Looks more like an Army humvee than a jeep

Patience is the key word. I live in walking distance from like 5 Walgreens/Duane Reades. Bluestreak was pretty easy to find once he shipped last December/November and I manage to score a Siege Ratchet last summer.

it’s the literally the only Earthrise figure they will carry. Which sucks because I scored a few Siege figures from Walgreens last year.

Is it? I thought I've seen a few. My guess is the fact Walgreens gets their exclusives in solid cases means there's no room on the shelf for other stuff.

That'll be helpful. I think since the Partnership thing started on Pulse they've gotten everything. But again, can't speak for other lines I don't follow.

Could be. Honestly I don’t know if Transformers sell that great at the WG/DR in New York. I’ve seen Bluestreak sit on the shelf for weeks despite going for double the price on eBay. I remember seeing more deluxe figures during Siege and the Prime trilogy. I think Covid hurt their toy aisle sales.

It’s probably safe to check every Tuesday between Noon to 1. If Red Alert is hitting stores in August he’ll be probably be up on Pulse sooner then later.

 

probably going to take at least three years to get through rest of the mini bots if they are expanding to non G1 characters and combiners. Those 3-4 deluxe slots per wave are going to fill up fast.

That all depends on if the retailers with exclusives want to partner with Hasbro Pulse in that manner, so far they've played ball though

Can Hasbro please justify the upcoming price increases by explaining how slight retools are super expensive and do NOT double/triple the profit per mold?

I love this Sideswipe mold, but the reuse count is insane. Now it's a retool, with a dozen color variants after. Again, how is it necessary to jack prices when u now resell the same toy 12 times?

If a restaurant switches from paper plates to re-usable ceramic, why should we tolerate higher prices on top? Seems like Hasbro could cut costs, but is taking advantage of u instead. I just dont agree: this hobby should not be exclusive to the highest earners.

 

They've already explained the price hikes as a result of covid. If you want to accept that explanation or not is up to you, but as someone that works in a form of the manufacturing industry, the pandemic absolutely has had a massive effect on prices for materials and will continue to have an effect for some time to come.
