It’s just a weird line to draw, right? You’re essentially saying you’re okay with the advertisement of the Volvo symbol, the Autobot symbol, and the Hasbro brand mark, but the Amazon logo is the corporate advertising line you won’t cross?

That’s fine and absolutely do what you want to do with this hobby, but it seems like strange logic from the outside.

 

They are one of the largest companies in the world. You're bound to hear the horror stories, especially since their main points of operations—their warehouses—are in the US. I bet you'd hear similar amount of complaints for Hasbro manufacturing facilities if they were here in the US. They're tucked away overseas in Asia so you will hear very little. I don't see a point in a drawing a moral boundary when it comes to this. We're buying products from one of the largest toy companies. Most these companies are no different from one another.

It's not that weird considering Amazon Prime is a thing. It's quite fitting actually. It'd be more weird if it was a Target truck or something. Hell, I think that would still be a fun collaboration.

 

an amazon truck has the amazon logo in big block letters on the trailer. volvo trucks have the volvo logo as a tiny symbol on the grille. its not really the same thing.

also, why would a transformer not have an autobot/decepticon symbol? its a part of the storyline. its not advertising a separate brand.

 

if we don't get an Amazon Prime figure that looks like this, I ain't interested.

 

Amazon sucks and if people want to make a bold stand, good for them. But yeah...this is dead on. You think conditions are any better in China or Vietnam? Where employees steal shit off the factory floor to sell for a bit of extra cash to YouTubers?

Hell, if people are upset about Amazon's warehouse conditions...do not lookup Foxconn. You'll probably never want to use another electronic device again.

There was a product page selling (but mostly out of stock) the Amazon 'Prime' but now its gone entirely.



As noted above, mostly likely because its no longer happening and re-purposed as Holiday Prime.

We can go through the whataboutism to defend Amazon all day, but when it comes down to it, Amazon deserves the notoriety it has. Dropping this collab was the right choice.

 

Closed for now as there’s no telling if this will even be released in the way it was intended.
