Which origin do you prefer for the Transformers genesis? Primus, the Christianity-allegory divine creator of the Transformers? (G1, the UNICRON TRILOGY) The AllSpark, the Buddhism-allegory divine source of energy that brings Transformers to life? (Movies, ANIMATED, PRIME) I’d rather go with the AllSpark. It makes things simpler than the whole pantheon Primus and Unicron built up, and IMHO it’s sort of weird that these planet/god-formers were not only never heard of but never even intervened in the war until a few thousand years after it started.
They could easily combine these 2 creation stories but if I had to choose primus because giant robot.
I frankly don't see the point in distinguishing them, because I've assumed from the get-go that the AllSpark was just an instrument of Primus's will like the Matrix is, which is what Hasbro then established to be the case for the Aligned continuity.
Quintessons. A race of (in-universe) products uniting against their oppressive creators only to fall into civil war is infinitely cooler than just created by "magic"/godly beings.
I wish I could go with the Quintessons more, I just didn't like how the Autobots and Decepticons were so simplistically divided up. Why would being a consumer good equal being a good person (robot)? And being built for military use doesn't automatically make one evil.
The Allspark, since there could still be a mystery as to who created it. If I made a TF continuity, I'd like to leave the origins of the Allspark a mystery for most of the series before revealing part of its origins.
I'd go with Primus, with the Allspark as the tool of his will, or like in Beast Machines, it's the afterlife. As a caveat, however, I'd have Primus keep a low profile and act indirectly, to preserve the free will of his creations.
I like the idea of the race being started by Primus but newer Cybertronians come from the Well of Allsparks, which was created by Primus, with the Allspark at the center of it.
