Ah. My bad. Well can they bring Steven back, or did his actor want out too? I think it was all too much changing too soon and too little done to correct it too late. I mean, the changes were bad enough received that the show's rating's dropped by a 1/3rd. Add in the high cost of special effects and it does not look good. Yeah, their idea is to bring it to the U.S. since these anomalies can't be happening in just the U.K. Bringing British shows over to America is common these days, but usually their "Americanization" makes them suck ass. One can only hope they continue it with it taking place here but keep the same spirit of the show.
The point is you're attacking these "stereotypical characters" which are common to television as if Primeval were breaking the blackface rule. You're just playing that tired angle of attractive actors playing scientists and other roles above them bit and you can do better than that. Billie Piper sounds about as working class as Hannah Spearitt considering they have very similiar backgrounds. Yes, Torchwood is rubbish. Ultimately, you don't have to be able to relate to characters to enjoy them. I can't relate to any characters on Dr. Who, BSG, or Heroes, but I enjoyed very much...not so much Heroes, but you get my point.
'Primeval' - Discuss this UK series here. I have just started series two and so far its been brilliant, as good as series one was, two has built on it and been even better so far. The last episode of series one was truly exceptional and now along with Torchwood, Doctor Who and The Shield this has become one of my favourite english landuage TV shows (I have a few favourites from Germany and Japan too).

I had no idea it was cancelled. Was it just hacked off our did it end somewhat properly, like Torchwood: COE? Out of curiosity, bumblebot98, how come you didn't like it?
It's actually returning next year thanks to a total of 4 television stations in different parts of the world. There will be less episodes for the new seasons. The show got pretty bad in the 3rd season, and it just couldn't recover at the end. While the creatures were interesting, the cast change just didn't work.
Its rare to see that kind of thing from TV stations. Maybe they had some great ratings and want those ratings to return? Sound investment.
I always hated the shitty acting and awful CGI. I know its typical UK TV and most of the time it doesn't bother me but Primeval just totally hit all the wrong buttons with I.
Well, the CGI was hit and miss I agree, at times it looked astonishing, then all of a sudden terrible. The Series one finale fight between the FP and the Gorgonopsid as well as the Dodo episode had wonderful CGI and although the CGI got better in S2, I was dissappointed in the Sabre Tooth episode. The story was fine, but the Cat looked awful - nothing near as great as the cats had looked in 'Walking With Beasts' or 'Prehistoric Park'. Acting wise, well, to be honest its not that bad IMO. Typical sci-fi TV acting, better than most - not as good as Torchwood or even Who acting, but far better than, say, 'Prehistoric Park'.
I was gonna watch until I heard it had been cancelled on a cliffhanger. Now that it's coming back I might watch and catch up.
I bought series 1 and 2, but as soon as I read here that it ended on a CH, I put off series 3. I have never gotten over the frustration and anger of 'V: The Series' being canned on a cliffhanger so I didn't want that feeling with Primeval....not that 'V: The Series' was a spot on the original mini-series mind you. At the moment I am up to the Sabre Tooth episode, just finished it. Like I said earlier, great story, but its let down by an unconvincing Sabre Tooth. The 'Walking With Beasts' and 'Prehistoric Park' versions were far better.
