A Canadian spin-off of the hit U.K. television series, "Primeval: New World" follows a specialized team of animal experts and scientists that investigates the appearance of temporal anomalies and battles both prehistoric and futuristic creatures. 4. I heard a Rumor there was going to be a spin-off but I didn't know it had actually happened. Nice to see it's handled by the Reese-stevens I like their work. Watching it now - will let you know what I think later. {EDIT} OK I watched it and I like it. They pretty much made it feel like the UK show but with that little North American Sprinkle - though in a slightly odd way it does feel like a Saban show with blood in it too. The Effects were very good though. and it was a nice touch to have a North American Dino in it. I wonder why the added Horns to their T-Rex though - was it to avoid getting sued by Spielburg? I actually liked the feather fluff on their Raptor subtle but fun - though I hope the Utah Raptor was a Dino they know had feather fluff. Otherwise another choice might have been better. It looks like this show if it interacts with the UK one would be ideal to bring in the ideas of who ulitmately creates the pathway that leads to the world ending diseases and the manufacture of the Future Predators... I hope they put them in the show as I love them Bat/Gorilla things to death and it would be great to see them allowed to be really scary. Also Canada has the right sort of forests and such to stand in for the prehistoric era if they go portal jumping at times. There's some left over plot threads and forgotten characters they really could bring in to the show in really interesting ways if they wanted too. I like it a lot I hope it gets better and better. oh and another plus point is Amanda Tapping Direct it. ! The only downside was I didn't see how the main character knew about the missing little kid - it must have been a blink and you miss it thing. I'd love to know who's in the freezer is it a future version of the main character who tried to save his own (wifes?) life or Connor I suspect it isn't Connor even though he has that (Arc) ? badge on. That little demonic gremlin thing is something I'd like to see on the show too.
i didnt know this was made, interesting. i had watched the original first 5 seasons and still would like to know what the portals are. *edit* wow okay i rather enjoyed that. i will have to try to watch it since i have no idea when its gonna show up in Australia. series 4 and 5 i had to officially wait to buy on dvd here since they never aired them here.
Not to mention Spielberg doesn't own the rights to the T-Rex. It was an actual living thing. That would be like copyrighting the appearance of a cat...

I solved the Mystery the day after I Posted originally the thing that looks like a T Rex is an Albertasaurus.
Yep I have. It carries on the story of the Humans nicely (I hope they keep that up) and The monster was a fresh take on the sea creature idea they have done a few times on the UK show. I'm glad the Cop is on side it allows him to run interference for them until they have a chance to go legit. I'll be interested to see if or when they get a locking device. As for the show in General the CGI is OK as far as I can tell. I would suggest that perhaps they use a few more Horror movie tricks to keep the excitement level up. I did think when I was watching it though that Banging on that grate was an incredibly stupid thing to do - when he had a phone on him all he needed to do was call for help. I think the use of the smart phone adds an interesting take on it I can see how that could be used in clever ways. The only small oddity I would comment on is they are luck they animal control lass knows he crypto-zoology and extinct species. I suppose if the giant Snake is local to them it's not unreasonable that they'd know that. I still can't quite figure out if the Dinos come from other places on the Earth or from the same general location - the suggestion seems to be they are local dinos both in the UK and Canada. Oh and some people seem to be thinking the show is meant to be in America - funny as It looks very Canadian to me the Military Uniform is Canadian the terrain looks Canadian. I didn't notice how the cop car was marked but I'm sure they mentioned it was in Canada several times already - I guess that is down to Canada standing in for USA so often that it seems odd to people when it plays itself. It's rather amusing that Primeval UK is pretending to be set in London but isn't shot in london (aside from the odd time or two) and Primeval New World is shot where its set more or less. I had a funny thought Maybe the guy in the freezer is the (Airforce?) fella that looks like Henry Winkler and not Connor or Evan like they were hinting. That would explain why he was trying to put him off 'perhaps'. Its worth watching in a run as there's some little subtlties you'd enjoy more that way to do with recurring characters. I need to go back and check to see if Evan actually has the same sort of Detector Helen had for example. I wonder if the show will bring in people from the future or people like Helen with Knowledge of the Future. if they start trying to not just lock the portals but close them it might cause problems globally. fingers cross for some Future Predators before the end of the run... Has anyone read how long the season is supposed to be and if it's rating are OKish or not so far - I heard it's been sold to UK TV to show on Watch (I wonder if they will leave the gore and swearing in ?)
Vancouver - Yes that sounds about right. I heard them mention it but obviously being British it's harder for me to pick up what is obvious to North Americans. I looked it up on a map -that looks like the map they had on the Computer tome it looks like a good choice in terms of topography. And it's in the same coastline as Oregon and Washington and not that far way from Langley / Washington and other interesting places in the USA either if they want to have an international dinosaur incident at all. and it's in a continental and coastal sense its pretty close to where 80's Transformers was set - which makes me smile too - considering that Dinosaurs and Transformers kind of go well together in my mind anyway.
Hey lookl A new dinosaur movie! I'll check it out soon! Most Dinosaur movies, except JP, seem to be dissapointing, I hope this works.
you obviously know more than i do, coz i didn't know that. i hope it also comes to ITV. dunno who that is, in the ice, i thought it was the equivalent of Helen Cutter. btw....i preferred the earlier series of UK Primeval! with Cutter in it, pity he decided to leave & they killed him off! Danny Quinn was quite good too! hopefully New World'll eventually show the Future Predators.
They left it open for Cutter to come back as there is 2 of them after all - the one from the changed Universe and the one from the original timeline who died - the Other Cutter must have popped into a portal his end at the same time and never came out again. Likewise there "Might" be two Helens too. Oh speaking of Helen - that cloaking disguise she had might prove useful sometime if they need to have someone be someone else. OH and I wonder who they are setting up to die as it's Primeval tradition to kill people off a lot. Oh and I think New World is on watch in Feb 2013. Not heard any word yet on another UK series though as yet. It's one of those shows that has wandered off for a bit only to come back after a break so I don't rule out another series/season just yet. They left the UK show open to continue it seems. Speaking of which anyone notice last week Connor had a ring on a chain around his neck ? - engagement ring or wedding ring do you think ?
