It might be worth talking to Nonnef - that guy does solid work with limited-run castings.

Just to note. I made a few changes to what is pictured, mainly changes to waverider who i made his helmet and face bigger, also his belt is bigger.

Waverider and grandmax can be bought in one print which will save than buying them individually.

If anyone was thinking of grabbing some the other shells i did, they will be the price they are until the SW prices go up on old stuff sometime towards the end of February.

I would love to get these, but I have had bad luck with the fragility of the smooth fine detail plastic. I would guess that I have broken about 25 per cent of the pieces that I have had printed in that type of plastic. If they were available in the WSF (I know that's not the name of it anymore, but I can't remember what the new terminology for that plastic is) I would buy them in a heartbeat. I would gladly sacrifice some detail for the added durability.

What were you printing? I have had a couple of the shells break(no weapons) on me but those were the test prints and only really broke because they did't fit and i wrestled with it to much, think doing so i dropped one and it broke. Also the test prints were weaker and less supported(since be changed). I dropped others various times and nothing happened. I have a warning on the listing just for awarness sake, i design them to be as strong as i can muster(i have spent time doing this) and i have to be confident it is as strong as i get before i put it up for sale. Still a good rule make sure you look at each piece you have and identify how susceptible or fragile parts can be as it will vary.

So really unless you are applying some excessive force to weak points or being really ruff with them you shouldn't have a lot to worry about it. Wsf is really not suited for these, i realise these are pricey but they are worth saving/paying the extra for that detail, wsf would be a waste of money as detail would go to mush.

So i have been trying to get on top of the painting, hoped to be further ahead but i am about 80% there maybe. Still some work to do but took some quick pics. More work needed but these will have to do for now.

Ok so I haven't finished painting yet but I could not be happier with grimlock. First thing of note, if you remove the 3mm(?) peg on the double barrel cannon, you can flip it all the way around with plenty of clearance. Another words it's still functional as that pretender target master. Also it systematically fixes the fact that potp grimlock was missing his double barrel gun.

Here's an idea that Iv'e had but lack the skills to do it myself: A new weapon/backpack for Bomb-burst that resembles bat wings when folded down, like Octopunch's tentacles? Just a suggestion.

I’ve had a lot of projects on the go lately, but still slowly working through these guys. Really pleased to add them to the ranks.

I also want to thank MiniMondoMayhem / Cha Chi for picking up where Hasbro left off and making these Pretender shells and accessories for us fans. I spent the weekend painting some of them up and although it was a challenge with such tiny parts (and I'll certainly need to do alot of touch ups) it was still quite fun and satisthing!

Good to have Waverider alongside his comrades. Cloudburst's whip is actually from the Octavirate Forge on Shapeways (I had bought it before getting these kits) but every other weapon and gun is MiniMondoMayhem's.
    dsc_0319.jpg

I need to re-do Stranglehold as I had quite a tough time painting his head especially (and his moustache is a mess no thanks to me :p ) but still I'm glad to have him to go with Bludgeon and Octopunch!
    dsc_0320.jpg

These guys are now properly armed! Love the addition of Bomb-Burst's shoulder bat wings. Working on Bugly and the Grand Maximus shells right now and will order Doubleheader and Longtooth next! Fingers crossed we will get Iguanus and Finback down the line!

I was really hoping for a Longtooth Prime Master. I prefer the new style of the decoy suits (more mechanical/robotic) but this one Looks pretty cool. Might do it for me, as well :)

Finished Bugly today, I accidently broke his double dagger weapon so that it's now a single dagger :)  Per Mini Mondo's recomendation he uses Octopunch's shell but swapped arms with Skullgrin for a bit more G1 accuracy.

You did an amazing paint job on your shells, love how you went the extra mile and also painted the inner robots in their g1 colors!
