I'm perplexed how you think Animated Bulkhead could've been bigger were it not for the gimmick. How? He's just end up inaccurate and messy. He needs a huge torso and stumpy legs to look like Bulkhead. Prime Bukhead already looks like a layer of panels and parts, so it works for him.

The proportions overall could have been the same, yet to a larger scale had they not had to thrown so much plastic into making the chest a brick.

I don't think you understand how toy making works.

His chest is hollow enough as it is. Filling it up would make him cost more, and if he was any larger in vehicle mode (which he'd need to be to keep proportions right) he'd be too large for a Voyager. Plus, what would you use the space is his chest for, anyway? The legs and arms already perfectly fold up. And again, if they were bigger he wouldn't look like Bulkhead.

The difference between the two Bulkheads is that Prime grows as part of his transformation on TV, so his chest beign made of split-apart panels and parts works. Animated Bulkhead doesn't, and his Vehicle front stays the same between modes.

You caught me, I've never sat down with the figure and the concept art for both designs and tried to conceptualize the engineering for either from scratch.

To say that the Animated Voyager design couldn't have been done in any other feasible way in a larger size however has just been proven wrong by the Prime Voyager.

I was disappointed when I heard that Ratchet's only a deluxe. Let's just hope that he's engineered similarly to this piece of magnificence. Deluxed sized car -> large bot.

Odd that those headlight pieces rotate considering they get completely covered by the door windows.

I think they're supposed to be visible through the window "glass" to emulate how his headlights appear sunken-in on his robot mode on the show.

^ He's saying he WILL buy it when he sees it.

I'm excited for this guy. He looks like a solid figure.

What a fantastic figure! Would you be able to get any comparison shots with Animated Leader Bulkhead?

My goodness gracious that is spectacular. I can not wait to get him. Now, hopefully the remaining figures for future waves can be that well done. :D

I had to laugh when he compared the robot modes and their sizes. I swear a wizard made that figure. Prime vehicle mode- 2:3 of Animated vehicle mode. Prime robot mode- 3:2 of Animated robot mode. You can't explain that. </O'Reilly> :lol

Yep. We haven't even seen a painted version of the voyager so if anybody claims to have him they're lying.

Extremely good looking toy with a cool transformation. It seems to have pretty nice paint apps, too, except for the mystifying exclusion of the hubcaps again.
