Seriously - forget the FE debacle, the question about these case assortments should be the most asked question at every Hasbro panel this weekend.

 

Gah! Hasbro! Stop trying to make me hate Bumblebee! I don't want to but you guys are really pushing it.

Can't decide which is worse... Bumblebee and a trippy repaint taking up half the assortment, the lack of more Vehicons, the unnecessary revival of Cliffjumper, the only 100% new toy being 1 to a case of 8... The only good news in all this is that my wallet can finally take a break...

 

I get the Bumblebees. He's still the flagship character, and you want him to be on the shelves at all times.

I even get CJ, to an extent. Despite the fact he was only in one episode, you need another Autobot in the ranks because Hasbro doesn't think bad guys sell.

I even understand shortpacking Airachnid. She's a girl, she's a Decepticon, and she's a spider. Given how badly Blackarachnia warmed shelves, it makes sense.

... but giving Dead End two slots and not repacking Vehicon? Hell, cut Knock Out and put in Vehicon. He's an on-screen character with an awesome design. And an army builder so collectors will buy every one they see. He'll certainly be more popular with kids than Dead End.

... and seriously. There are only two RiD Deluxes that aren't just cars/trucks/motorcycles. Why is it that since DotM Hasbro has been afraid of any variety in alt-modes?

Two Dead Ends but no Vehicon. Why. Just... why.

 

Well they have a success with the pegwarming side of things.

But for a flagship character they give him lose floppy arms with the FE mold and hunched over shoulders with the RID mold,Again it's a success.

Just who is it that makes theses kinds of carrot top decisions?

Maybe they think kids will see him and beleive it to be a DC crossover Joker.....seriously the color choices of repaints for the past few years leave something to be desired.

Also, I think what they're doing with characters like Soundwave is giving em a 2nd run, but just not back to back, so ideally wave 5 will have the Vehicon.

 

they should have threw in terrorcon cliffjumper instead of cliffjumper. that would've been interesting.
