I'm pretty sure the show's writers/creators have stated that they want to avoid repaints in the toyline, so they're probably not going to bring in Skywarp and/or Thundercracker. The problem I have with this is that I love those two characters! Besides, they're already making a Terrorcon Cliffjumper, which is essentially a repaint, so I think they should write in other repaints.

I mean... why leave out two awesome Transformers? It's stupid.

 

I'd like to see powered-up versions of characters like from Animated. A Nightwatch Optimus comes to mind.

 

Tailgate is a possibility, who'd be a white Cliffjumper.

Just because they don't appear in the show doesn't mean Hasbro can't make some themselves. At the very least, I think we'll see either deluxe and/or voyager molds of Skywarp and Thundercracker.

 

Expect things like "Nightwatch" Prime or a color-inverted "Stealth Bumblebee". Animated did it this way, repainting existing characters in alternate schemes for whatever reason (I.E. Atomic Lugnut making him look more like a WWII bomber flown by Duke Nukem with a shark mouth on it).

And I FULLY expect a Skywarp repaint. Even if it' supposed to be normal Starscream in SW's colows.

They've said Skywarp and Thundercracker will have different bodies from Starscream if they ever introduce them.

I plan on repainting Starscream a couple times though myself.

I actually like repaints when they're done right because sometimes I don't like the original paint scheme(still waiting for a decent DOTM Sideswipe repaint) or it's because I couldn't find the original character. It took me two years to find Bumblebee after the first movie so I bought Cliffjumper instead. Allspark Cliffjumper is the best example of a good repaint in my opinion as well as Nightwatch Optimus.

 

While they did say that they're avoiding straight-up repaints for the in-show characters, it doesn't mean that they won't ever bring them into the show, or toy-line for that matter. If they appear in the show, they'll have some sort of uniqueness to them other than their paintjobs. If they don't make an appearance at all, I could easily see Hasbro releasing them as repaints of Starscream's two molds anyways. Repaints are inevitable anyways, so might as well make them something fans would be interested in.

I appreciate them wanting to have each one of the non-trooper characters have their own unique designs, but at the same time I wouldn't mind some being repaints/retools of others. I feel that Skywarp and Thundercracker should share at least some similarities to Starscream. Same goes for Sunstreaker and Sideswipe if they ever show up.

 

We ARE getting a repaint of DOTM 'Swipe. He's a Decepticon named Darksteel,a homage to BW Quickstrike. He's in Wave 5

 

I think it'd be cool if SW and TC were different bodies. Different bodies=new molds!

 

They already did it with BB and CJ. Anything's possible

 

I know they did, and I love it that way.

 

This is Hasbro, of course there are going to be repaints. Probably not in the show proper, but I can't be the only one who would love to see Starscream recolored.

 

If Skywarp and Thundercracker make it into the show, I want them to be car-based femmes.

I seriously hope TC and Warp show up. Thundercracker because he will always be my favorite, and Skywarp because he can be fucking hilarious at times. (Also, I want Skywarp pushing someone down the stairs to actually be canon.)
