Huh, I only just now noticed that his shoulders have no articulation. And just like that I will not be buying him.

Not that I was terribly excited in the first place. His hollow design says one thing and one thing only to me: "Cost Saving Measure".

That, and not "cavities for figures to fit inside because that's the whole point of the toy"?

No shoulder or knee joints make it disappointing, but I'll still get it for the army of Cyberverse figures I have and keep it as a command base. THAT mode looks really cool.
The Decepticons really need an equivalent, though. Maybe a nice Trypticon homage?

I love the Cyberverse line but I don't know what to make of this.... thing. If they had based the design on Omega Supreme or Metroplex, I'd be all over it. But a giant Optimus Prime battle base is just too weird.

Having seen this thing in person at BotCon this year, I can safely say I do not want this fugly figure.

Here's my thing with this Cyberverse Battle Stations stuff they're doing with this. While I'm not too interested in this particular toy or the Bumblebee super suit... I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing where they could go with this branch of the line. There is some serious potential for some great toys here. I'm aware that the chances of us getting a new giant ass Fortress Maximus or a Trypticon is unlikely, but it could be applied for this smaller Cyberverse line. There's a lot that could be done, even withing the Prime Universe, much less the rest of the franchise. And I hope that, unlike the Power Core Combiners, it gets the chance to really meet that potential. (Because the PCC did have a lot of potential too. It just never really had a chance to develop more.)

But I don't see me really picking this, or the Bumblebee suit up, even on a clearanced whim. Having said all that, if I was a kid with the money to blow, I would get them, because I remember how much I loved the Micromasters Bases, and I think I would have loved these too. (And if the kids like 'em, that's all that matters.)

I agree the line does have an extreme amount of potential. I don't know why they don't do something more along the lines of slightly larger scale micro master styled bases. For Cyberverse, those would be insanely cool! With the ability to link the sets together and create different base configurations the possibilities would be endless.

For this, Hasbro needs to quit thinking Playskool and start thinking a lot more progressively. Even the kids will thank them.

How did you stop with just Prime?
I've bought every one I've seen.

    Yeah -no kidding.
Talk about missing the forest for the trees.

I'm getting one, but I still don't understand why they refuse to design simple and effective basebots like Metroplex or Fort Max (could be smaller) with closed compartments, hidden weapons and stuff. Add knees, elbows and a neck to Metroplex and he's perfect for a modern Cyberverse basebot.

If Hasbro keeps on releasing turds likes this and keeps on shrinking my classics... Like it or not there's only place I can get my plastic crack fix.

I will have to get one. I really enjoyed the Ark. And this can potentially just store my cyberverse Autobots on the shelf in some meaningful display. Rather than being Pushed behind deluxes and voyagers.

Its the way Optimus Prime sits in the battlesuit with display screens around him that inspires the Neo Powermaster Prime Imagery in my Head. Its grandiose mecha, super heriocs. Super Atomic Science made from scratch.

Its not for everybody. But it can be cool.

The cons just have the energon Driller though. We want a Nemesis/Trypticon
