Thanks for the kind words guys.
Not my usual repainted customs but it is my first parts swapping endeavour.
I give you Marvel UK comic accurate Sizzle and Micromaster Freewheeler as a Sparkabot.
The G1 Sizzle arrived today but I hadn't noticed when I bought him that the spark mechanism had been removed.
I actually had G1 Sizzle for years before I sold him and a lot more of my collection in recent years. Never occurred to me until recently to try part swapping it with the G2 toy.
Anyway, missing part and mismatched wheels aside, I think this works...
I think the head sculpt is a good match for CP. Similar design cues.
I can see it...
Thanks. Nice to know it's not just me.
The yellow windscreen behind his head really reminds me of the halo in certain religious pictures.
Red Wing is slowly getting there I think.
Red Wing is pretty much finished and he's here with Acid Storm and Hotlink...
I'm getting Armada Starscream vibes from Red Wing. Coincidence or no?
Great work as always! Glad to see this thread is back up again.
Thanks. I didn't even see the Armada Starscream vibe until you mentioned it.
I based him on the Collector's Club colour scheme for Redwing.
Small update on my Custom Streetwise. The head came from a ko of G1 Streetwise I bought years ago. I painted it for this custom but the details didn't seem to look right.
I'm in the middle of moving house and found an old sticker sheet from the Kabaya release of Classics Prowl.
The sticker for the face was still unapplied so I tried it on the custom. I don't think it looks too bad...
That's pretty neat! Scales well with G1 figures too.
Thanks. The scaling with G1 figures is the main reason I like this ko.
Did anyone else think of that Game Grumps KFC story after reading this?
NOW THAT YOU SAY THAT!
I really want to do this to ROTF Detour, I wish they released that mold in yellow!
At first I was freaked out that you were repainting a bunch of rare (to me) Euro figures and then I saw you were in Europe and was like "Oh. Well, carry on then."
Not exactly yellow but Slapdash was repainted from Nightbeat. You could try picking him up on EBay. I doubt he's that expensive.
Looking at my old photo, Dead End/Detour makes a nice update for Throttlebot bodies. I love that car mode in Nightbeat's colours. For some reason, the shins and feet are removable on that mold. It has nothing to do with the transformation but it means they can be swapped around for the Throttlebot feet.
