Prime Hasbro Skyquake - I am doubting we'll see it (at least at retail)

So I was thinking about this, and I really don't think that we will see a PRiD Skyquake.

The reason I say this is because if this doesn't hit before the holiday season, there is no way retailers will be ordering the Wave 5 Pack. From what I am seeing near me, we may not even see Wave 4 voyagers at retail.

By me, at my TRU, you see full shelves of OP and Megs Voyagers. So in all reality what are the chances that all of these are sold, so they can place an order for a the 5th wave.

    So that is first.

Secondly, we all know that we don't see anything new in Q1. To me, anything that we should see in Q1, we will see sometime in early Q3. If we have this again, we may never see Skyquake.

Third, Skyquake is a dead character. So it is an easy figure to cut out.

    What do you guys think?

If he doesn't get released it's fine with me since dreadwing is an extremely underwhelming toy.

Anyways don't online stores have preorders for him? If that's the case it's extremely unlikely he won't be released in the U.S. at all. If anything skyquake will have an extremely minor retail presence with a wider release at discount stores next year.

Wave 4 Voyagers are already at retail in some places, so those are out there.

But I agree - Skyquake's chances aren't looking good. But them's the breaks, last assortment guys are always tricky to find. I'm sure that's why he's in the final assortment actually, it's probably to cover the bases in case he ends up being hard to find.

You're working on the assumption of excess stock to liquidate.

One vendor who gets his Hasbro stock from an Asian distributor told me he hadn't seen anything about a voyager skyquake.

This may be down to the distributor, Hasbro Asia, or it may actually mean its not happening at all.

I think you're totally right about us never seeing it at retail if it isn't in stores before Christmas. Action figure aisles always become like graveyards for a few months after the new year begins.

So yeah, anybody who wants a Skyquake needs to preorder the shit out of it asap.

Don't they have Preorders for him at BBTS? Because that's a sign of him getting released somehow.

I don't get why Hasbro didn't just slide him into Wave 4 and drop Starscream. Why relegate Skyquake to a revision case?

They need to come out and say something ASAP or BBTS needs to start grilling Hasbro about what's going on... there's going to be a lot of unhappy customers if suddenly BBTS has to cancel all the preorders for Skyquake/Magnus/Thundertron leaving people scrambling for Magnus and Thundertron.

And preorders aren't a sign of anything, just that Hasbro, at one point, solicited the figure. It's not a guarantee he's getting made. Plans change and waves get cancelled, as we saw with DOTM.

The fact we've seen no in-package shots from Asia or anything indicating this figure exists is a bad sign.

For once I agree on the feeling. With the dotm cancelation of their last wave still on my shit list, and the crappy distribution that the prime line has seen this year, I too have the same worry over sky quake

That's why I pre-ordered him. BBTS may be more than retail but at least I have my name on one (unless he gets cancelled all together).

Skyquake will be hard to find since he's in the last wave of the line. This happens all the time, one I remember to this day is ROTF Red Rampage and Evac. I'd say a good majority of people would think they're myths if we hadn't gotten pictures of them :lol

There are Voyager Skyquake preorders, so there remains hope he'll get a release via online retailers (a la the RtS Voyagers) and maaaaaybe show up at retail at discount stores or something later. I do agree the possibility of a retail release in general is dwindling considering Black Friday is almost here and still nothing.

That said, even with preorders, it would not be the first time that something was put up for preorder and then canceled later on (some of the last Animated toys, the initial FE debacle).

My Thundertron's box has an "Also Available: Skyquake" on it.

    So, no.

Ross, Marshalls, or TJMaxx will carry him. Or at least that's the thought pattern. Retail doesn't get Hasbro's marketing process. Then again, Hasbro doesn't get Hasbro's marketing process.

We'll ultimately know when it's cancelled. I found Dreadwing at TRU by asking a worker who was nice enough to check their stock in the back. You might just have to ask someone and hope someone is willing to help. And if you're hunting, just keep checking back.

Have you seen what's "also available" on the All Star Optimus Prime box?

I wouldn't be surprised. At this point I am counting on it not being at retail and hoping BBTS and TFsource fulfill their preorders.
