It'll be awesome to see bumblebee ironhide chromia and Arcee including ratchet
Except that they're alien to begin with to us in general which has been going on since the beginning and even if they didn't go for the style they have for the movies now, they still should have signs and elements that they aren't from this earth on them visually otherwise people who aren't big fans of TFs won't buy into the idea of them being from another world and just assume that they're man made on Earth. Styles like Prime,IDW and RID15 are good examples of them feeling alien even when some of them don't look that alien as do the styles shown here.
Agreed kaijuguy19 optimus prime awesome
These are incredibly cool, especially Megatron! I like that he actually looks recognizable to the character, and the cape is EPIC! I like Prime better too, he's not drastically different, but I appreciate that he looks more solid, and less like a jumbled mess of panels. I'd say overall he looks more heroic, and less like a murder-bot.
I'll be honest though, I think the designs are one of the lesser of the MANY problems in the Bayverse. If the only thing that changed were the designs. I may enjoy it a little more as far as toys go, but that still wouldn't change the rest of the fest.
I get that. But that changes nothing of my statement.
I look at these designs and it give me hopes for a Batman Begins style reboot of the live action franchise, one day one day
'G1 designs wouldn't work' my foot Bay. Kind of explains why Long Haul was the best design of the trilogy.
Optimus is... OK. It's skillfully done, but pretty much a general movie design made a couple notches more gee-wunny (and Gundammy in the legs), like a hundred other fan art concepts found in the world.
I would have liked that Megatron better as a movie design than what we got. (though I kinda like beefy burly bots in general). It's apparently solid-looking with a nice mix of homage and new ideas.
The issue with Prime is that he's such an iconic character that it's hard to stray too much from his roots. Even the movie version was designed so he'd have the red upper body and blue legs as a robot. I mean most of the movie characters are walking scrap heaps, but you can tell Prime is Prime.
Not gonna lie, I wish this was the movie aesthetic.
I would love to have one of these, but I'm afraid of seeing the price.
They look much better!
I wish we got figures that looked like these. G1 top with AoE bottom? Not bad concept at all.
stylish designs, but...
if hasbro had to make toys out of them they'd have to cheat so much people around here would -never- shut up about it.
not that the movie hatesquad ever shuts up anyway.
Now I'm adding these to the "Toys I know will never get made and I desperately want to be made" category with Transtech and Generations Sixshot.
Actually the film's design tops what G1 has mostly blocky parts and no details
Those designs are stunning!
Wow. I feel like these designs add insult to injury. They're miles better than what we actually got and that's a damn shame. But at least one can hope that this is a sign of better creative direction to come.
There only gonna be statues not in the film's
Yea I think ppl know that lol
These are really good, especially Megs, but I'd rather have that Prime1 A.O.E Optimus Prime statue with moving parts and option parts. THAT looks phenomenal!!
And yes even so this is definitely a better direction of art for movies its just not a story yet and I'd rather have some memorable PLUS THAT AOE STATUE IS DOPE!
It's interesting how many cues in both of these really match the movie versions on closer examination. Like Optimus' legs remind me a lot of AOE Optimus, and Megatron's head is just a slightly less detailed version of his movie head. I feel like Optimus needs more colour placement. Not necesarily flames, but simplicity of the G1-ny colourscheme seems at odds with the complex design.
Megatron? Perfect though.
