    GLX-MAS SPECIAL

Milwaukee’s worst are getting their very own holiday one-shot in the GLX-Mas Special. The team formerly known as the Great Lakes Avengers and the G.L.A. are back and this time, they’re sure to prove they are the absolute worst super-heroes EVER!

“For all of the people who think super heroes suck, and all the people who think that the holidays suck, we proudly present the suckiest super heroes on the suckiest of holidays: the GLX-Mas Special!” says G.L.A. writer Dan Slott. “If, for some strange reason, you LIKED last summer's G.L.A. mini-series, then think of this 48 page one-shot as more of the same, except Christmassier.”

Packed with 6 tales featuring the newly dubbed GLX, the GLX-Mas Special sees writer Dan Slott team-up with a slew of top artists including Matt Haley (G.I. Spy), Georges Jeanty (Gambit), Ty Templeton (Spider-Man/Human Torch), Paul Grist (Jack Staff), Mike Kazaleh (Ren and Stimpy) and there’s an extra-special X-Mas gift courtesy of your Friendly Neighborhood Mike Wieringo!

“And, if THAT doesn't hook you... Well, NOW we've got an X in the title, so you HAVE to buy it,” explains Slott. “Really. Only 198 mutants left. And somehow Squirrel Girl, Flatman, Big Bertha, and Doorman are four of 'em! And, yes, Mr. Immortal is STILL Homo-Supreme, the most highly evolved mutant on Earth! So stick THAT in your Marvel Universe Handbook, continuity-boy! Ho ho ho.”

You just better hope they don’t cancel the holidays after the G.L.X finds some way to mess it up. For merriment and mockery galore, check out the GLX-Mas Special, spinning right out of surprise hit G.L.A.

I'd like to assert once again that zombies are the LAMEST of all reoccuring culturally iconic monsters. Zombie = "Let's take a human being and remove any uselful physical and mental abilites to make them suck as much as possible, then make that suckiness contagious, then figure out how many of these prodigiously sucky creatures you need in order to create some semblance threat."

But these zombies are cool. They maintain intelligence and are SUPERHERO ZOMBIES! Which means they have powers. How cool is that.

    Team Zero #1 (of 6)

Acclaimed writer Chuck Dixon (NIGHTWING, ROBIN) revisits the Team he helped create and enlists super-star artists Doug Mahnke (BATMAN, JLA) & Sandra Hope (INFINITE CRISIS covers, DANGER GIRL) for a 6-issue tale of heroism and bloodshed.

The year is 1945. In the twilight of World War II, a clash of ideologies leads to a colder, more sinister conflict. And the first battle of this new World War will be fought on the eastern frontier of Germany by a band of seven American commandos.

Codename Deathblow has been assigned a mission of dire importance to the future of American national security: reach German test labs in Peenemunde, Germany before the Soviets can, and evacuate all personnel. Step one: gather the Team!

In the epic tradition of the original Team Seven and such films as The Dirty Dozen and Saving Private Ryan comes a blood-and-guts tale set in the waning days of World War II.

Good. If there's one thing I've been saying for months now, it's that Wolverine doesn't get enough exposure. Good thing we have books like X-Men Unlimited to give him some more face time. :redface2:

The story likely takes place back when he was still a member.

And really, shame on you DC. Marvel doing giant robot versions of their heroes was bad enough, but you too? You're not even promoting a toyline. :(

Megamorphs was a fun read actually, if you realize it's not the "616". I was pretty impressed by the series actually. Hopefully DC can pull off a fun/lighthearted story with this as well.
