A desperate Knockout attempts to regain favor with Megatron, who has grown enamored by the return of Shockwave and his Predacon soldiers. Using forbidden technology and research performed by Jhiaxus, Knockout seeks to empower the legions of available vehicons and air vehicons, resulting in the birth of a combining army for the Decepticon forces!!! However, a clever guerilla tactical strike by Arcee and Smokescreen destroyed the new tech as well as all related data, resulting in only a singular combiner unit being fully brought online! Now STEVE Maximus will channel vehicon rage and displeasure at their former autobot tormentors!!! Seriously... Presenting STEVE MAXIMUS Vers. 2.0... With increased articulation... head, shoulders, elbow, wrist, fingers, hip, knees... Still combines scramble city style... i.e. any of the 5 can be any of the limbs... I jus like symmetry so this is my preferred combination... Stands at 11 1/2 inches tall... Individual bots retain vehicle and robot alt modes... Enjoy!!!
Wow cool, really nice, have the same plan, but with slightly other figuresc(Magnus and FE Vehicon too) Any advice for us to replicate this?
Basically what I did was start with a jet vehicon as the central figure, and used the tab on the larger wing piece for attaching my male combiner joints... Modded the bottom at the feet by creating a set of interlocking grooves to allow feet to combine... For the PRiD vehicons, just modded the weapon ports on the side to fit the male combiner joints.... Ensure that the pieces you're using have really good joints to avoid floppiness... I am presently working on my TFPrime Menasor... however am replacing Breakdown, since we already have a Breakdown in this continuity with a Brakedown, using the FE Vehicon mold. The in-joke is peeps keep mixing them up since their names sound the same... ;P Am just awaiting my Ultra Magnus to finish him off, as I already got all the limbs finished and worked out...
You know what I like best about this? That it actually LOOKS like a Prime Vehicon combiner. It's lean, mean, gangly and deadly, just like the Vehicons themselves (or how they look rather). Perfect fit.
Thanks for that observation... It was what I was aiming for and working with as my design motto... Tried my best to avoid adding extraneous bits and pieces and work with a natural aesthetic.... hence the combiner ports and attachments are the only mods I made to the figures themselves.... And that was done in a non-invasive manner, to avoid affecting the natural aesthetics of each character... To everyone else... glad you liked it... ;P
