Hey guys, I have a question. I want to preorder stuff but I don't like the idea of my card randomly being charged out of the blue months from now. Is there a reliable seller whom I can preorder stuff from that will allow me to pay upfront? Kind of like they do at Gamestop.

Wait really? So the whole won't charge your card until it ships is an option?!

You actually LIKE the idea of paying up front? I'd say you are in the extreme minority.

CapturedPrey has better prices by a few dollars usually and they charge up front. So win-win for you.

The majority of them charge up front, in my experience.

Plus, they aren't going to just charge your card "out of the blue". You ordered something with a release date and even if delayed, you will get a notice before you are charged. So, you made the order and you keep your money until the item is about ready to ship. Nothing is "out of the blue".

Pretty certain that if you choose PayPal as your payment method, this automatically happens.

I can see why someone would want to wait. My problem is with how tight money can be at times I don't like the idea of having to wait and see. At that point why bother pro ordering?

Bbts has certainly charged me out of the blue. They did start issuing warning more recently (sometimes, but not reliably).

I still like bbts' pre order best because of the ease in which I can cancel, but if I was worried about paying at unexpected times they'd be a bad choice. I'm not sure they allow you to pre pay. Most other sites do though. Some like captured prey allow you to choose.

BBTS doesn't let you pay up front. I believe TF Source has that option. Toy Dojo too I think? Never preordered with them.

Who are you ordering from? Seems the majority don't nowadays.

Charging up front works for me. I have control and funds won't leave me at the worst possible moment.

I believe that if you use PayPal it comes out straight away.

I've ordered from BBTS and your right. They do not debit until shipment.

It's kinda nice having your stuff paid for upfront and it just show up upon release...until a retailer fucks you and your paypal protection has lapsed. 3rd Party preorders take more than 6 months the majority of time so you're putting all your faith in the retailer on making good.

BBTS excepts PayPal, so via that method you do have a choice.

I use Ages3andup. They allow for both pay now or pay as it arrives.

I'm not pre-ordering. Especially third party stuff. I prefer to wait until a few reviews trickle in to make sure the qc of the product is good. This approach has served me well thus far, so I will stick with it.

Money in hand becomes more money.
Paying up front is handing out free loans.
