This design is legendary. It's one of my favorite Prime designs of all time and 3A has given it justice. I already have the DLX Prime so I won't be getting this guy anytime soon, however, it does some to make a few improvements over the DLX.

looks good! if i recall correctly, 3a/3zero preorders are paid up front and non -refundable - i’m eagerly deciding between this and yolopark’s reveal in a month or two. i wish they would call out all the articulation joints so i have a better idea of what went into him over the dlx version

Looks really good but yeah $518 is a tough one to swallow.

I think I'll stick with the DLX but this one is definitely a beauty. Nice head articulation that the DLX can't do, swap out parts for his Cybertron form and all around small improvement.
Would get this to be the one and only prime in my collection if the DLX didn't exist.

They let you pay half the price for deposit now instead of full price at once.

my fear is that if i put whatever amount it is for the deposit and it’s not refundable, and i decide to go with yolopark, then i’ll have to forfeit my deposit or pay it in full to sell it to someone else. we’ll see...

and for ~$500, that’s actually pretty good considering how years ago, i had the original prime/bee premium releases and they weren’t that much cheaper, but had no die cast and less articulation points.

Yeah I bought their DOTM Bumblebee for about $400 and that was fully plastic. $518 for all the advancements they've made in the past few years isn't bad. Just hard to stomach with how well the DLX version did. I would be all over this in a heartbeat if it wasn't for that one.

Also I personally feel like the yolopark one is gonna reach $700-$800 price range. It's bigger than Threezeros and they're going crazy in terms of intricate details. At that point I would just go for Threezeros and call it a day.

i actually think yolopark is going to be north of $1000, considering the sheer amount of parts alone. reason why i think that is because i had the ultimetal prime which was almost a grand, and is nowhere as intricate as yolopark imo.

but i really hope i’m wrong with the pricing and it comes in under! lol

This is going to be the third 3A/3Z TF I pass up on, following premium Bee and TLK Megatron. All 3 of them have alright to lackluster designs in my opinion, and while this usually doesnt matter, the movies from which they were in were some of the worst movies I've ever watched. Couple that with the fact that I'm so goddamn sick of seeing 3A/3Z make Optimus Primes instead of other characters, I just don't see myself buying it. I'll probably get the XM Studios Optimus as my G1 Prime centerpiece instead.

I can see how this DLX first and upsized system works. It’s like they accomplish what they can in DLX and then add extra flourishes with the bigger retools. The Cybertron form is a nice switch between, it’d be cool if Bumblebee had a similar feature to match with him. Although those parts are probably too much to change so I understand why he doesn’t have such parts swap.

This is one of the few high end collectables I can say are worth the $500+ price tag.

My wallet is too weak to handle either the deluxe version or the premium version lol, but just out of curiosity what makes this one preferable over the other one besides just being bigger?

My guess will be more accessories to change between earth mode vs cybertron mode compared to DLX which has only earth month. Details wise this seems better.

So there's the ThreeZero DLX version.... then this one, in case the DLX wasn't big enough... and then what about the massive Yolopark figure with all the complex internal joints, diecast, functioning matrix compartment, etc.??

Hasbro x Yolopark Bumbleebee Movie Optimus Prime

Plus the endless stream of competing 3rd-party figures with no end in sight.

Never before have I seen SO MANY expensive premium versions of a single character design so quickly. Meanwhile most characters are lucky to get a single figure!

The added Cybertron mode sure is cool, but I completely agree with everyone who's saying this isn't enough of an upgrade to justify the hefty increase in size/price. They really knocked that DLX version out of the park.

He'd probably look like this, just bigger:
