Considering the Transformer and G.I. Joe 25th anniv.'s any thought about Jem and her Holograms?
    My thoughts:
Based on the disappointment of the Trans. 25th, I don't see much hope. If Hasbro won't give a care about M.A.S.K., then Jem, a discontinued toy as well, is probably on that same level of importance.
The thing that makes a difference are that the dolls are geared towards girls though there are guys that dig the show as well. For "girl toys", Jem and her Holograms might go great alongside My Little Pony.
The Jem fan bases are very strong and dedicated. Unfortunately, it's just a few people compared to places like this.

Anyone here have wives, girlfriends, or even themselves, looking forward to the pink pop princess?

My prediction? Sod all will happen. At the risk of a gross generalisation, women grow out of toys a lot more than men do, so the prospect of releasing a toy line that only women in their 20s-30s will care about isn't going to appeal much.

Yeah, Jem should come back cause it really would make a connection with the girls of today. It's like so totally relevant!

Just cause it existed in the 80s doesn't mean its good, or it would have existed in the 90s.
I'm sure there's some tool somewhere designing his 'Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines' website so he can feel different and special.

    :p

How is it not relevant? Teens and pre-teens are sporting 80's fashion and listening to music either made in the 80's or heavily inspired by it,i.e. Killers,Lady GaGa,Neon Neon, etc.
Walk into a Hot Topic, have a look around, and tell me a Jem and the Holograms revival wouldn't sell.

A Jem and the Hollograms revival would be huge on many levels, this is a very strong look for right now.

Nothing will happen. I don't even think the toy sold that amazingly well in the 80s, to be honest. Not when compared to Barbie, anyway.

My prediction for Jem's 25th anniversary next year is a bump of this thread followed by a warning from a Mod. And that's it.

I'd settle for them releasing the rest of the cartoon series on DVD to finish what Rhino started. Rhino and their epic fail machine known as splitting up the third season and then not bothering to produce the second half of it due to failure to forward planning. MORONS!

Other then that, I suppose a special commemorative Jem and the Holograms doll wouldn't be so bad. Didn't Hasbro renew the Jem and the Holograms trademarks a year or so ago when Transformers first hit theatres?

10 posts in and no one has said it yet, so I'll be the one to throw the first stone:

I hope that it will be truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous.

Seriously, Jem has a die-hard following (I don't know how big it is though) As far as marketability, it's potential might be small. I'd like to see it because, well, I did watch Jem when I was a kid - loved 80's music and it was decent. It was in between two other shows I watched on weekdays and Saturdays so I wasn't going to get up for a half hour, just played with my Tf's and watched it while waiting for the next cartoon to come on. I also would love to see my little cousins and family friends' daughters, etc. get into something other than the usual Britney etc. BS when they're 7 years old. Jem would be a better role model even though she isn't real.

We'll have to see what happens, but I hope for the best.

I know a ton of girls that remember Jem. Like I said marketability might be difficult in some aspects, but I don't think Jem will suffer from girls forgetting about it.

Bingo - celebrities and people wear TF/Voltron shirts etc. and I would put money that a new gen/younger or retro inspired artist would do a Jem theme or something that borders on it with modern updates.

I believe they did get the trademark, my brother was telling me about that and some others they may have gotten. If everything else fails for marketing, I think the DVD release would be huge. It wouldn't sell billions but would definitely do as much as the voltron/thundercats sets, etc. The fans definitely deserve a DVD set, hell I was thrilled when Silverhawks V1 came out, just praying they will do V2. The Jem set needs to be reasonable cost and dedpending on number of episodes it may be best to do a one set release rather than V1, V2 etc.

My College Art Professor designed the play sets for Jem back in the 80's when he worked for Hasbro as a designer.

Anyways, I REALLY don't think we would see anything of Jem, unless you count Robot Chicken making her into a washed-up 40-something $5 whore.

Getting Matt Trakker a figure in the 25th Joe line (which I've still yet to find:mad ) is probably the most we will see of a M.A.S.K. revival unfortunately. Unless they decide to work in other M.A.S.K. characters and possibly vehicles (which could just be Joe vehicles made to look like M.A.S.K. vehicles under the 25th Joe line, like Destro's tank/helicopter thingy), which seems like a long shot.

My memory may be murky, but I remember Hasbro saying that a M.A.S.K. revival depends on the fan demand, and currently it is far too small for them to even consider reissuing the original line, let alone make a new one.

If they do anything, I hope it's quiet and tasteful, given Jem's dead.

Does this also give hope for M.A.S.K.?
