Some of you may know that next year will be the 10th Anniversary of Movieverse Transformers. Ever wonder if they have any plans for this? Since Takara is doing a 10 Anniversary celebration, I wonder if Hasbro will do the same. They can probably combine that with The Last Knight toy line. Let me know what you think.
Well I cant speak for the toy line(s) but I hope for The 10th Anniversary and the production on TF6 that we get some super special TF characters added to that movie.
I really doubt the toy line will celebrate the anniversary. Since Aaron Archer left, Hasbro has dropped the whole inclusive thing, and now markets their Transformers toys exclusively at the demographics that make them the most money, kids and people nostalgic for the 80s. If it's not G1, then the toy line will be almost entirely 1/3-step changers, and the like.
Ummmmm... Hasbro might do something next year for the 10th anniversary along with the 5th movie line.
I'm guessing a special disk release of the film with new features, or releasing the film in theatres in 3D. More than that I can't be sure.
Well seeing as how the movies helped bring Transformers back on the public eye I'm betting Hasbro will do something to celebrate it and I would be very much surprised if they didn't.
Hasbro To Showcase Transformers: The Last Knight Content At BLE 2016 - Transformers News - TFW2005 They will probably show 1 or 2 toys from the TLK line.
So starts tomorrow? Look forward to something. Also, I would bet if they did a 10th Anniversary line, it would only be for the major characters.
I've honestly been praying that they're going to re-release the 2007 figures. It would give people a chance to replace their broken figures or give others who missed out on the toy line, like me, a chance to collect them.
Unless they were exclusive figures, first movie toys shouldn't be that expensive on the secondary market. Ebay, TFW's junkion forums - you just gotta look beyond retail for the older stuff. Especially given the price of each size class has gone UP in the past decade. So a reissue of 2007 Deluxe Barricade could cost 50% more while still being a sub-par toy.
Well, at the risk of sounding like a major spender, I wouldn't mind paying a few extra dollars for the figures if they were re released at retail. I've tried looking at eBay for voyager and leader class figures and the voyagers are around $50-$60 while the leaders are $90-$130 or so. They're REALLY expensive on eBay especially the ones that are mint in box.
