I'd say 140-150min long. Enough time to put all the mentioned things in it and not long enough to bore the audience. If they do have the script for the 7th movie then it would be most efficient on their part. Wonder when we get the info on the Bumblebee movie. Oh, the old rewatch value criterion! In my personal opinion, the good films are the ones that can withstand the passing of time. If the movie is 2h long you really have to reserve some time for it beforehand. A spur of the moment rarely works in those cases. That's why I like the 22min cartoon or anime format.
TF6 (Bee movie) is set to start filming May2017 as of now. We should start hearing info on casting probably some time in February I'd guess.
AOE was meant to be shorter than the others, but it ended up being longer so I'm going to say 3hours, dead on lol
I really wish Bay and Co. would get the hint. I think the biggest reason the sequels got panned was because they were too long. Most movies have no business being 2 hr 20 +, let alone what's suppose to be just a CGI summer spectacle. Also, a shorter runtime means more times you can show the movie in theaters which = more $$$
I don't think they are going to be happy until they make a Transformers movie that is longer than the directors cut of Das Boot. Hard to guess the exact length but I'm going to say longer since Bay and Paramount seem against the idea of one cut for the theaters and an extended cut for the home release.
I'd love it to be shorter, I think it needs to be shorter. But with all the globe trotting they're doing I'd say it's going to be the longest one yet, which scares my bladder.
Haha, what if the opposite from AoE happens for TLK? At first they'll say "oh yeah this will be the longest one for sure!" But then in the end it's actually the shortest one, or at least as long as the first movie.
I was staying in India a few years back and I saw Harry Potter 4 and, then a few days later, King Kong at a cinema in Mumbai, and they actually have a intermission half way through the movie! The first time it happened we were like !! But halfway through King Kong i had my cigarettes ready and waiting, i'd already been won over by the idea of an intermission after just 1 and half LP movies! Don't know if they still do it, or how common it is/was, but another funny thing was that we had to stand up for the Indian national anthem before the film started!
Absolutely no reason to have this longer than 2:15, and honestly, 2 hours is probably more than it needs.
boggles the mind why people want a shorter film length...these films come out once every 3 years & you want them to be shorter? c'mon bro bad boys - 1hr 59m the rock - 2hrs 16m armageddon - 2hrs 33m pearl harbor - 3hrs 4m bad boys 2 - 2hrs 27m the island - 2hrs 18m transformers - 2hrs 27m transformers 2 - 2hrs 30m transformers 3 - 2hrs 37m pain & gain - 2hrs 9m transformers 4 - 2hrs 45m 13 hours - 2 hrs 24m expect at least 2 1/2 hours
One of the big complaints of these movies is that you feel there length, you can't blame people for wanting this King Arthur insfused robo nightmare to end sooner rather than later.
I understand the sentiment but the reason that excuse doesn't work is because a lot of the runtime in TF movies goes to useless scenes. In AOE you could've taken out the elevator scene, most of magnet scene, Joyce's intro, Texas laws etc. That right there would've trimmed about 10 minutes.
It depends on the type of film. Everything doesn't have to be Lord of the Rings in length. If you are adapting a really long book with a load of characters and plot points into a movie then you might need that epic run time. But if you are just wanting popcorn roller coaster type film fun then something shorter actually works better. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark ran 1 hour and 55 minutes while Deadpoll ran 1 hour and 48 minutes. Plus now Paramount wants a Transformers film every year because they can't get that monster box office off their other franchises.
agree but all of the transformers films introduce at least 4-6 new transformer characters & at least 2-3 new human characters so id say the lengths are appropriate & i do agree on how the time is used..for example the driller scene in tf3 among others was a waste of cgi & time in my opinion
I hope it's shorter! The thing with long movies is you can't just take an afternoon to go to the movies on a whim. You have to plan for, like, most of the day, and people are exhausted afterwords. I really, really preferred shorter theatrical versions and extended versions that could be watched at home vs mega long movies.
