Hey all. I got to open the airbrush kit I was getting for Christmas early as I wouldn't have time to try it out once I opened it and i've been practicing. yesterday I just taped some paper to the box I will use to store the limbs of any WIPs and got used to handling the brush. Today I practiced on a couple McDonald's hotwheels toys: Didn't try anything special on the top one. Just got used to painting plastic. On the bottom one, I tried some striping and went for a more Dead End style car. here's some individual shots: Unfortunately the tape didn't cover every single groove and I don't have a regualr detail brush to go over it. And the tape i put on the wheels covered a bit of the car itself which is why it's a bit white there. Anyways, I now realize that I've got A LOT to learn before I start on figures EDIT:here's another one
for a first time attempt it's really good, far better than mine, i killed two complete figures till i realised my mistakes *lol*
For a first timer: you did pretty good! I've never been able to do stripes, but you sure did better than what I could have done.
Even if you are using a brush to paint, when you paint stripes mask them off first. It'll give you a crisp edge. Keep up the good work
Hey, I know it's been a few months but I'd like to post another practice custom I did as I just recently grabbed quite a few little toy cars to paint so I added another to the first post. personally I think my brush control is getting better. Though I forgot to put a base coat on the part I tried to paint red so the black ended up showing through The pic sucks but the paint looks and feels awesome in person
