Yes, which is why I pretty much only deal with single player games and from certain franchises.

You had to pay for them? They were free updates for me

And I still find this goofy. It's extra content clearly made after the fact

S7 Trini is the only MMPR figure I'd really like to have, lol.

It's content that was intentionally withheld to sell later. It's the same with Green and White rangers. WHy would they give them to you with the base game when they can make you buy them as additional costs later?

Another brick unfortunately, but still pretty cool. I like the piloting gimmick, even if it makes it look a bit weird

Not a bad thing at all; it just made me think of Gokaiger and gokai-change!

So you'd prefer if they just never had additional content, that way you can have a complete game at launch?

Yes, I'm okay with that. Games didn't have additional content in the 90s and 2000s. I'd rather they actually focused on a complete story than leave crap unfinished just for DLC.

Considering the empty green roller coaster carriage, I'm hoping green is an unlockable. I can see white ranger and others being dlc, but I'm hoping at least green is in game unlockable.

A uk shop is selling LC tengas for 3 quid a pop so picked three up. Always did like the birdbrains over the claybrains.

Games absolutely had expansions (basically the first type of "DLC") in the 90s and 2000s. Sonic&Knuckles is a pretty famous example of this. It was originally supposed to be part of Sonic 3 but time crunch caused the content to be cut and released as it's own game, but docking Sonic 2 or 3 to Sonic&Knuckles unlocks extra content in both games. Then in the 2000s you had games like Elder Scrolls Oblivion (2006) which got the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. Even "completed" games without DLC end up getting subsequent releases with extra content like Gears of War (PC version had additional campaign missions), Chrono Trigger and a multitude of Final Fantasy games (DS and GBA versions had entirely new dungeons and story content), so ultimately even if a game is "complete" a more "complete" version could always come out later.

I don't consider expanions the same as the modern sense of DLC. DLC is typically material that they decided to not put into the main game to sell it to you later for an additional cost. Casltevania Lords of Shadows did this where you had to buy the DLC if you wanted the actual ending to the game. Assassin's Creed did this to an important story mission. The Witcher III gave expansions though. They were additional stories that had nothing to do with the main game's story, were produced after the actual game had been made and shipped due to the success of the game. They each had their own self-contained stories and expanded on the lore of the world. Judgment had a great expansion that focused on the main character's partner, but again, it had nothing to do with the main story of the game. Fighting games lock half of their roster in DLC these days and then spreads them out to justify the additional cost. I forgot which game it was, but they only put half of the game onto a disc and you had to then purchase something to get the rest of the game as DLC.

Anyway, this topic is getting off of Sentai/PR, so I'll stop here.

i would imagine that short of Green and White, they prob aren't thinking of anything else, maybe just maybe if enough people buy and play the game they'll add content otherwise you might just be stuck paying $5 for Green and White and while not great there's costlier ones out there

I could see some Boom! Studios stuff making it into the game since there's a lot of MMPR era stuff in the comics, like the Omega Rangers for example

Easy: stability. As cool as it was having posable mecha for two years in a row... those joints have to hold up to more weight being added onto them for combinations. It's why DX God King-Ohger is practically a immobile brick despite the core it's built around having the most posability a Sentai mecha's had in ages.

Then why not just make the final combos be the immobile bricks like God King Ohger did but leave the base bots at least somewhat articulated? Or just design better final combos that are less unstable?

Also is it stability that makes them look like total crap? That F1 racer doesn't even turn into a full car, the arms and head are just sticking out.

Who knows with Bandai and Toei sometimes.

And eh, I kinda dig Byunbyum Mach's look myself (though admittedly I've got like. zero standards when it comes to this stuff), it's kinda cute the vehicle mode looks like someone driving an F-1 racer.

Well we went from two shows that revolved around experimentation and plot over gimmicks to a more traditional Sentai series that focuses on the gimmicks.
