Awesome! I'll be real interested to hear what you think of it as it's always been one of my favorite megazord designs. I'm hoping it turned out good.
Exactly, don't overthink this. The Power Coins got destroyed multiple times and yet they are being used in this special like nothing happened. This is Power Rangers, it never makes sense once you start thinking about anything that is going on seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
There are Ranger allies like Ninjor and the Morphin Masters with the ability to create new Ranger powers and zords, they could easily restore destroyed ones. It’d be nice if they name dropped Ninjor but after the heavy focus the Morphin Masters got in Dino Fury I could see them being referenced. If they explain it at all, which I honestly don’t think they really need to since Dino Fury kind of already did and the special will supposedly tie-in to DF and Cosmic Fury. Speaking of, I could totally see Zedd and Scrozzle having something to do with the existence of Robot Rita. As for why the zords look different, Hasbro probably just gave the vfx team the CAD model for the ZAP zords to use. Btw I love the “Bandora Protocol.” Noticed they name dropped Turtle Cove, Reefside, and the Astro Megaship. Wonder if that’s meant to be a general alert to all active Rangers or if that’s where our returning Rangers happen to currently reside. Kat would likely be in Reefside anyway.
Spoiler Don’t know how they’re gonna address Jason and Tommy, but A while ago Amy Jo teased some involvement with her in the special
as far as Trini Spoiler dying, I can see it playing out two ways... first is its legit permanent, she is killed in battle by Robo Rita (her evil spirit possibly reincarnated in the robot ala Starscream's Ghost?) and her daughter seeks revenge, possibly (probably) becoming the new MMPR Yellow Ranger by the end of the special... or, in classic traditional Power Rangers fashion, since time-travel is apparently involved (is Robo-Rita capturing other rangers and turning them into little Lightning Collection figure dolls as seen in one image? And the team going after her is the remaining orignals?) everything will be set right once again, with Trini not dying (but not appearing onscreen obviously...there are ways to work around that) and a happy ending... it is pretty dark to kill a character off in Power Rangers, even moreso considering the original actress has passed too...I suspect the second option might be in play, but we'll see how far Hasbro is willing to go because it could be inspirational the other way as well... if anything, the buzz over this special should show Hasbro how much life there is in the franchise, when they treat it right (as the special apparently is)...
I hope very high. I want a robot Rita too. Maybe that rumored deluxe Rita will have parts for both a normal and robot version. That was spoiled a while ago. Still will be cool to see how it happens.
I sometimes wonder who the father is. Whether she has a relationship with one of the other rangers. I had a plot in my fan made reboot that trini has a relationship with billy.
Just watched the trailer for the special. My theory of the story is Spoiler Trini dies taking the kill shot meant for Billy. As Trini was my favourite ranger and the past few years have been very emotionally breaking for me, seeing this and the fallout is pretty much gonna wreck me. Rita then goes on to use the time portal to take out the other rangers before they became rangers. She manages this with tommy, jason and kimberley before alpha is able to mobilise and he summons the remaining rangers to him with the bandora protocol, which is why we get a mix of all three season teams together. It's an all hands on deck kinda thing. The rangers end up going back in time to before day of the dumpster where rita is and they fight her. And they are able to use the dinozords from that time, long before they were destroyed, which could also be why they look a little different. These are a version 1.0 and get damaged in this battle, leading to repairs making them a version 1.1 for the original series. Rangers come back to the present after all is said and done and the rangers rita killed in the past are all alive again (surprise cameos). Not sure if this would also include trini, which could be done by her daughter getting a phone call from her at the very end. End scene is Zedd's theme playing as he gloats about how the robot rita he created caused enough chaos and distraction for the rangers he hates the most to allow him to put his grand plan in play, which leads to Cosmic Fury. And that is the only appearance of Zedd. Because let's face it, he's just as iconic to mmpr as rita, especially having Kat in. That's my prediction for how the story will go based on the trailer. I'm excited to see the three lineups working together, moreso than i would be if it was the full one specific season lineup if I'm honest, and I'm so happy to see Zack being the leader as he did seem like the second in command. I'm hyped, I'm ready, I'm gonna probably cry, I'm gonna be excited. Once a ranger, always a ranger.
It's a bit wild to me that they can't just deliver these figures at normal quality with all the price increases. We get it if you say you need to skim on paint apps or accessories but raising the prices AND lowering the quality of the plastic plus terrible QC is this line killing itself. Since Hasbro owns Power Ranger I would assume they will try to keep stuff coming in some fashion but normally this line would already be dead with the amount goodwill they've lost from their customers. It's a shame too because some of these figures are really great and I've love to have more of them on my shelf. As long as we get all the reds I will call that a win.
I imagine they'll address Tommy mainly by the fact that Kat is married to Dr. Oliver and raising their son, who is presumably in his late teens or so by this point. Part of the reason I think it's likely that all the media reports of a reboot are true is that S.P.D. is set in around 2024. Without a reboot, things are about to get weird.
Was hoping for Alpha and Scorpina in this wave too but I guess they’re cutting back. Noticed them lowering the number of figures per wave with some of their other licenses too. Well, it does make it easier to pick up an entire wave anyway. Hopefully it’s not a sign of the end because I’d like to have some of the remaining characters in this scale, but Super7 hasn’t been doing too great lately.
In the comics she (very) briefly dates Jason and winds up raising an orphaned alien child that has super fast aging - from early childhood to old age in the span of a few months - with Zack. With them flirting and getting close as “mom and dad” But Zack is in this with no indication he’s the father of Trini’s girl (couldn’t have a 100% Asian actress if he was). Trini didn’t date anyone seriously on the tv show.
I know there’s the Minipla coming (and I’m STILL waiting for colored renders/official reveal of it), but I’d LOVE to see Super7 do their own version of the Thunder Megazord/Dairenoh, ESPECIALLY to make up for the cheap Walmart version that was missing a TON of paint/details
I don't like White as much as Green, but the suit/armor design hides the ugly ass ab articulation a bit at least. The JDF portraits look decent enough especially the one that isn't a ponytail.
