Hasbro did bring Zedd back recently and he’s said to be the main villain of Cosmic Fury. Wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up in the 30th anniversary special too. 100% though they should do a remastered Rita, and White Ranger for that matter. Maybe rerelease Alpha and Zordon too.
Well that's a bit weird. I'm guessing Dino Fury takes place in an alternate PR univese then since Zedd is there?
It’s supposed to be in the same main universe. The current Zedd was “resurrected” from a point where he was at his most evil, but could be considered a duplicate because his original self that was purified by the Z wave is presumed to still be out there. It’s Power Rangers, it doesn’t always make sense.
Yeah, it was oddly worded when they explained it, but a villain with the powers of necromancy resurrected Zedd at a point in time from when he was most evil. It seemed to imply that Zedd himself was somehow pulled from the main timeline's past or an alternate timeline to accomplish this. Again, it's Power Rangers. I'd be surprised if the current writers were even aware that Zedd had become good at any point, to be honest. Didn't realize they were going to make him the main villain of Cosmic Fury though. Especially considering how he was defeated in Dino Fury. I guess he could always escape.
What’s funny is they actually talked about the Z Wave in an episode. Might have even been the same episode he was brought back, can’t remember exactly. Yeah, Dino Fury actually ended with Zayto telling the other Rangers that Zedd had escaped and they needed to go after him.
Ah, that makes sense. I actually haven't gotten around to finishing the last couple of episodes yet. I hope they actually get a significant upgrade to go against him for Cosmic Fury because damn was he wiping the floor with the whole Dino Fury team. Which is really made hilarious when you realize that Tommy fought Zedd to a standstill as the White Ranger back in MMPR S3. Tommy is still the GOAT.
Separate glasses and a morpher, interesting. At the rumored deluxe price point I was expecting all the forms of the blade blaster. Glad to see Hasbro hasn’t disappointed there. Could do without the effect parts myself though. Would rather there was another character specific accessory.
That Billy looks great, first I’ve seen of it. Im sure I’m very late to the party but I just got a Green Ranger Shredder from Ross (I had completely forgotten it was coming out.) I never could bring myself to pull the trigger on the Turtle packs but the idea always appealed. Cutting to the chase this guy is absolutely radical. The cape adds a level of expressiveness and the whole thing is very threatening looking. Hats off. On a side note since I fell in to a Ranger coma for a while there what’s the best lead on the Street Fighter rangers? I’ve liked their design since the game but I’m so far out of the loop it’s hard to tell if I missed them.
Awww man, if they come with this much stuff, I can see myself getting these smh. I was only planning on getting red and green, but looks like I might go for the whole team.
On the one hand, I'm glad Hasbro is making these the "ultimate" MMPR releases. On the other hand, it really makes those original releases entirely pointless now.
Yeah, I thought this might be the case, but with the corrected helmets, all the extras, and pinless... I'm going to end up buying these. Was only planning on getting Green and maybe Red and Pink since their helmets are kind of screwed, but they had to actually do something worth the upgrade. Damn it Hasbro! It's the way of Hasbro unfortunately. Make a figure that's "good enough" so you buy it and then drop an Ultimate version later on that most won't pass on. Happens constantly with Marvel Legends and they keep doing it because it works!
If 30th anniversary Jason and Zack have hands with vertical wrist hinges I might pick them up. Hoping for an Armored Red Ranger using the new bodies unless any future Green Ranger figure has a new shield that’s retooled for easy removal.
That's just toys in general. Superior versions of the popular characters will always come out. It's not just Hasbro, that's how it's supposed to be. When toy technology improves, it's only expected big name characters will get rereleased. It's like buying a new gaming console every 5-8 years.
Was fortunate enough to be collecting when the original MMPR figures were released in the Lightning Collection, so no major needs from this remastered line. Interested to see what the red and green releases come with, as those were the weakest of the original line-up, with red’s poor helmet sculpt, and the missing diamond on green.
