Blame the comic design.
I never said it was Hasbro's fault. I'm well aware these are based on the comic, and in the comic it's thoughtless and lame. Thoughtless because it disregards the established mechanic of the powers, and lame because you had the chance to mix two insanely cool designs (Shredder and the Green Ranger) and that was the best you could come up with? They couldn't even give him a white or gold cape to match the Ranger outfit? Do the normal Rangers keep elements of their normal clothes when morphed?
I've never read the Boom comics but damn if almost every design out of them doesn't look like shit.
It's also explicitly said in the comic by Rita that Shredder corrupted the coin, to which he replies that he merely bent it to his will. That right there is enough in story justification for why his morphed form retains more elements of his non morphed design than most.
That's fine and dandy but I was responding to the commentary on the figures, as you wrote:
Had you replaced "figs" with "costume designs", it would be a different conversation.
I don't think you meant to quote me here
Definitely would have preferred the color green he has on the box art.
Honestly, with all of Hasbro's Green Rangers...having had the S.H.Figuarts Super Senati figures, I feel they've gotten the shade of green on all their figures... It's usually a bit more of a greenish-blue or teal color.
My mistake! That's what I get for typing on my phone!
nice they went with a fabric cape...Drakkon exclusive would have benefitted from that
I like the look of the cape but soft goods at this scale tends to not lie well on toys. They lack the weight to drape in a way I think many find pleasing to the eye. Hopefully the production capes match up to how these pre sale photos make the cape look.
The proportions and colors looks really weird to me. And shouldn’t he have triangles on his shirt?
Id have preferred green arms as well, even if it wasn’t the design
Not surprised to see Shredder but it still amazes me at how quickly Hasbro can turn out an entire TMNT team while Time Red is still the only Timeranger after more than a year.
Time Force? $
From a company stand point, it makes sense. I'm sure they see it like Transformers. Here's Generations Scoop but we won't bother to release the rest of the TM juniors at retail because they need more Bumblebee on the shelf. Complaining? Well, here's Quake...sorta. And without his partner. Oh, and here's a Spinister...also, without Targetmasters. Now...MOAR BUMBLEBEE!!!!
TMNT literally is a license to print cash more so than any toy franchise I know, literally they stayed winning
Yes, so winning they don't even have a mass market retail line available right now. The brand is popular and has fans. It's definitely not making what the Hasbro or Mattel brands are just by lack of volume. Their grosses are marginal compared to juggernauts like Marvel or WWE
Edit: Oops, it’s Reaction.
Why does that thing look like it has even LESS articulation than the other DZ figures?
Yeah, doesn't look very articulated but sometimes S7 does that with their initial reveal images. Then again... the Dragon Zord's design isn't the most articulate to begin with.
I'm hoping Hasbro releases a Dragon Zord to go with the combining zord sets that came out last year or so.
The lack of articulation is because this is a tease for ReAction wave 2, not Ultimates.
Separate names with a comma.
