It's plagued by a lot of QC issues. That said... if you get a good one it's good without any issues, but you're playing Russian Roulette with your funds. That's how prominent the QC issues are with this particular figure.
I've seen examples of it breaking in the box before opening, I've seen examples of the shins breaking basically "just because", I've seen examples of it breaking from simple and easy transformations and not rough handling it. Are there good ones? Probably. Is it worth the chance? No. Even AJP has cut its price and it's currently sitting at a 2.5 review level. It's just badly made.
And I’ve seen firsthand the QC issues with the SOC Megazord, and let’s not forget the nightmare that is breaking clips on many many super Sentai figures. I’ve learned to cast replacements every time I get a new one.
So it's more like playing reverse Russian Roulette with your money... where instead of every chamber being empty save one... every chamber is loaded except for the lucky one.
Qc is a stubborn issue on some Bandai lines, just not prevalent in the Power Ranger lines(aside from the clips breaking on that one Dino sentai release years back). They often get a pass out of nostalgia and because people confuse their reputation from the 80's as indicative of what they put out now. I found the Legacy Collection to be very sturdy despite not really liking much else about them. The largely worry-free handling aspect was there(and a lot of companies overlook that) but the rest of the line seemed phoned in with no MMPR ranger-specific weapons(aside green and white) until the metallic repaints, steroided up bodies no one wanted(the same people who defended them now embrace the Lightning Collection for show accuracy which is ironic because they argued against it the year before and said roided up bodies "had to be done") and no villains until Psycho Rangers! Plus BoA AND Bandai Japan both said no to Lord Zedd! Bandai Japan only considered it for a Figuarts Zero release. Lame I'm guessing for Lightning Collection we might see Rita and Scorpina this year. It would be cool to see Ninjor.
The funny thing is I bought the Legacy Green Ranger and when I opened him up his wrist peg fell to pieces right out of the box and his legs were extremely loose. I immediately returned him to Target for a refund.
I'm hoping for Lightspeed Red and maybe a Megazord. I feel like the Astro Megazord would be the best one to start with, but regardless of what happens I'm looking forward to it.
I'd like to see MMPR Black to finish my main Rangers off. Phantom Ranger, Blue Centurion, and Ninjor as far as Ranger allies go. I'd also like to see Lunar Wolf Ranger and Zenaku from Wildforce. Other villains would be Rita, Reno, Scorpina, Divatox, Astronima, and Ecliptor. And the rest of the Psycho Rangers. I'm also eager to see Ranger Slayer even though we know she's coming.
Those are some of my favorite designs. I’d love to see them all get new figures from Hasbro. Hopefully with some added articulation. I’m down for whatever collector series Megazords we end up getting, but these are amongst my most wanted. I definitely also want to see the Mystic Force Rangers show up in Lightning Collection soon along with Koragg (Wolzard). I’m hoping we do see more non-Ranger villains shown off at Toy Fair. Hasbro shouldn’t keep us waiting for a proper Rita. We waited forever for Bandai to give us one and it was the most lackluster thing.
Must-buy for me: Zeo Gold Ranger (Stand alone version) May very well buy: Ninjor (Base version) Gonna need more space: The rest of the Zeo rangers, All Alien Rangers (Kakurangers)
