Just saw it. Like what I saw so far, except the words and villains look as cheesy as ever. It's not a good contrast IMO, but whatever. I just might follow this series.

 

Y'know it wasn't as bad as I'd thought, the backstory would seem to be a solid foundation, but it really gets let down by the fact they have to use the Go-Onger machines, totally doesn't fit in with the theme. Something like the Turbo rescue zords which looked meaty and techy would've fit perfectly.

 

Out of that whole fight, thats what impressed the most. GG RPM, GG.

 

Finally caught the first 2 episodes and I must admit, the show looks good! Thanks for the head's up guys!  

 

Anyone notice Ninja Storm footage in there? In the opening, when this World Internet Federation announces the Venjix virus, the officials arguing (for like three seconds) footage is from "Snip It, Snip It Good".

Also appreciate "pop culture" references or whatever they call it now. Ziggy's Titanic moment was my favorite of it all.

 

Eh...after just watching whats out so far. Not too impressed as a whole. I'll keep watching and waiting to see if any interesting developments take place. Otherwise I'll just stick to Go-Onger.

 

Yeah. At least we will get one EPIC half of a season...

I couldent stand Go-Onger but I really like RPM!

I hope they would make the Zords talk or something for this version. Its a bit weird having a machine seem to be alive and not really do anything but stare at you.  

As for the ending of the franchize goes...Since the "RAT" took over the show looks nice but every series seems to be rushed I'm glad its dead.

 

Cheesy in spots, but overall...impressive. It's actually watchable. I don't believe it. I could actually make this a new fave show...

Now, with PR on the verge of permanent vacation, I think it needs a reboot like TF.

A movie with impressive CGI, a good origin storyline, and a much darker tone. A bit more on the serious side (even more so than this one) and it could work.

Okay, putting that aside, I still don't believe that RPM is going to be the last season of Power Rangers. But then again, since Disney raped the franchise, maybe RPM will serve as what happens when you get a Power Rangers show right.

 

True, each season/year is pretty much a reboot, but I'm talking about a top to bottom reboot.

Pull a Trek. Go all the way back to the beginning, strip away everything we know so far, except the core pieces.

Keep Zordon and Alpha-5 (though he needs a massive update and to be more streamlined.)

Bring back the original Megazord, but take cues from Hasbro's Universe line and make the designs and toys more complex than they've ever been, not just simple combining...make shifting panels, ports, etc.

Instead of the five teens being friends, pick a true rag tag team, a jock who needs to learn humility, a "princess" who needs to learn there's more than money, a wimpish geek who in the end uses his newfound skills to help save the day, etc. Over the course of the film, they become friends, but most certainly hate each other in the beginning. That'll appease the teamwork and friendship requirements that parents groups and old skool fans will bitch about.

Instead of using cheesy effects and reused fight footage from Japan or wherever they get it from...use actual martial artistry akin to the Transporter film series, with SW I II III Lightsaber battle techniques.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. I dunno about you, but I'd go see it.

 

The Japanese did some original mech designs for MMPR way back when and never used it.

But PR is one reason why kid shows suck now is because of the violence.

If they were to do a re-boot I wouldent do the dinosaur thing again, same concept but leave the thunder lizards out LOL!

But I feel if they took the show a bit more seriously and didnt treat it like a 30min commercial. The show would still be alive.
