Seeing this tomorrow, but seeing that this is going over fairly well with fans does make me more excited.

Really looking forward to seeing this. I managed to swing Kong: Skull Island and wish I hadn't. What intrigues me the most is the character with autism — a character in a blockbuster that I might be able to relate to? Sign me up. I shouldn't get too excited, but I really want something to wash the bitter taste of Kong from my mouth.

It'll probably be a whole week od more before I can see this, unfortunately.

Well fuck, now I'm actually interested.

Now I've gone from disappointed the movie looked so bad, to disappointed I can't actually give it a chance now because my theatre booked three solid weeks of Beauty and the Beast.

Just gonna pretend that episode in Zeo doesn't exist, and this is what really happened to them.

What? Small theatre with just 1-2 movies?

Yeah, it's just one theatre between the library and other stores, and they usually only play one movie a week. It's usually alright because they get good variety, but this is just plain dumb. I doubt B&B will be able to hold three straight weeks.

Plus it means the "coming soon" section on the site is nothing but B&B, so I don't even know what's coming next.

Haven't seen it, and probably won't for a long while, but I was beginning to suspect that this PR movie would likely be better than the TF movies. Mostly because I'm more invested in the TFs, and therefore are more picky about it, but also because it just doesn't look as bad, and the leads already seem more likeable than Sam and Cade.

So I'm not too surprised to hear/read some good things about this movie.

The biggest difference between Bayformers and this is that the characters are more well defined than anyone in Bayformers. I'd say Billy has more characterization in this film than any character had over the course of the first three Bayformers movies combined.

This one is going to be like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and probably Ghost in the Shell for me - I have vague memories of it but with zero attachment, so when it eventually shows up on Netflix, I'll watch it but with little to no expectations whatsoever. But being that it is Power Rangers of all things aka one of the cheesiest most low budget shows to ever be thrown on TV that somehow got popular, my bar for it is already brutally low.

I went in with lower expectations and I was actually quite surprised with the movie. I think they actually did a good job with the way the portrayed the characters. The conflict seemed to feel natural as they learned to work together and I think making them not boring goody two shoes characters out of the gate was an excellent choice. 98% percent of the jokes worked well too except for one or two that came a bit too close to a serious moment.

They also did a good job setting up potential hooks for the sequels
The inclusion of the Zeo Crystal, also mentioning it is found on any planet with life ie, making the Gold Ranger an alien if we get up the Zeo story arc and Rita mentioning more would come for the crystal
    .

As for favorite character in the reboot mine has to be Billy. One thing I can see being a bit of an issue with parents is there is death in this move in a few places and Rita is actually pretty damn creepy due to how young the tv series is marketed to versus the movie.

I shudder to think what they'd do to the Zeo suits. Those were intentionally simple and looked awesome because the simple costumes were accented by the detailed gold bands.

I honestly don't plan on seeing this movie. At least not until it hits the local matinee theater.

The suits actually ended up looking pretty good in the end. The chest diamond even blended in and looked more silver then blue most of the time to me. Also they show a POV when the helmets' closed and it doesn't have a hud or anything so vision is slightly impared so it the face opening up in the zords kinda of make sense. For sequels they do need to move their heads a smidge when talking with them closed.

They're a super high-tech alien supersuits and they don't have a HUD? Also, the visors are gigantic, I can't imagine how much their vision could be limited.

I mean, aren't the open helmets just literally the visors retracted along with the mouth? Their field of view should be exactly the same.

I actually would've prefered if they helmets retarcted/disappeared entirely. I like seeing the rangers helmetless, but the open helmets just look weird.

    Wow.

Absolutely loved it. This movie did a phenomenal job of staying to true to the source material enough so fans will be pleased, but also modernized it so it's cool and in stride with a great popcorn flick. My biggest worry was this movie was going to "Bayified", but it wasn't. This movie captured what's great about Power Rangers, didn't take itself too seriously, and it was so entertaining.

They created real drama for the team, crafting real world scenarios that people can relate to. All of the Rangers had something going on that people can say "yeah ... I get that."

I honestly got emotional seeing the Rangers in their suits for the first time, lost my shit at the theme song being implemented into the Zord entrance, and smiled big seeing cameos from JDF and Amy Jo.

Elizabeth Banks was creepy as fuck portraying Rita, it worked so well.

Cannot wait for future films. They set the landscape up extremely well.
