Well, they seem to be channelling one of those Power Ranger show, I can't remember the title, where the Rangers actually turned into their own Zords. Which sounds a bit odd, but okay.

That would have been a little more suitable. But then, this is alien armor, so I guess it's okay.

Holy slag I had not considered that.

I think that I'm indifferent on these new suits. They're okay, but they don't exactly "wow" me either.
Could be worse, could be better. It will be interesting to see them in action.
I was honestly expecting them to look even more "edgy" and "modern" than this.

To sum it all up; "it's okay".

The only thing I'm wondering is if they'll change the zords up. Red and Pinks mask look like updated versions of the originals, but Black, Blue, and Yellow look similar to Pinks.
Wonder if Tyranno will be the only ground zord?

It's possible that the helmets can change to be more like the originals due to feedback. Happened with Megatron in the 2007 TF movie.

I don't think that's quite as apt because PR/Sentai has generally been about more form fitting and sleek outfits for quick and easy movements, rather than the more armored look that American designs seem to keep pushing them towards.
These aren't as heavily armored as the 90's movie, but the suits don't seem to evoke the sleekness one would imagine when it comes to Power Rangers/Sentai.

I've always viewed their sleek to have more to do with production values and the television format of the series. With so many series, sleek spandex suits simply are cheaper to produce than armor suits likewise it's far easier to film a 20 something season for the stunt actors in the suits.

Black Ranger reminds me of Batman's arkham knight outfit.

I dunno. The Metal Hero genre (Think Beetleborgs and VR Trooper) and Kamen Rider (Masked Rider and Dragon Knight) were produced alongside a lot of the PR/Sentai series, but featured a lot more armored designs (Though they tend to have around 1 to 3 heroes, so I dunno...I'm not well versed in TV production costs).

Yeah, like I said, they're a lot less armored than the 90's movie. Here it's really just the armored chest, arm guards, boots and knee pads (Though I'll admit there are some design areas that I can't tell whether they're armor or just part of the suit. Namely on the crotch and upper leg).

The suits are a blend of CGI and actual costumes, right? They could do edits on the suits so they could be less overdone, but I don't know where the lines blur between real and computer.

Sequel setup for the Green Power Ranger!

Is it just me, or do they all have a hole in their chest full of plasma?
